It doesn't look like Home Depot stocks them as I couldn't find it on their site, but the DeWalt site says the filter model is DCV5801H, and it fits both this and the DCV580 vacuum. I would contact your store and see if they can order it for you. If not, then look to the manufacturer's website.

I was just going to order a cordless but this one will be worth the money if it charges the battery that is plugged into it when it is plugged into the wall.

I bought this to clean my car primarily, and selected this because of the multiple power options. I have old 18 volt batteries that I wanted to get more use out of, and they last just long enough to comfortable clean my car (they are old and don't last long). So I can purchase either 18 or 20 volt batteries or use the power cord. The hose reach's all areas of my car while being placed on the ground outside each door. The unit is light and compact considering it is industrial. The included tools store nicely. The only issue so far is that the wide vacuum attachment detaches easily so I have to hold it and the hose while vacuuming (will check with Dewalt to see if any solution). And the only other downside is the cost of the filter, hopefully it is really a long lasting washable filter as stated. But so far very happy with this product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Convenient Vacuum is convenient for small applications. 4h battery last about 25min. Not that strong but will pick up and blow dust. Have not used it to suck up water.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful-No Convenient- Yes! Let's be clear this vacuum was designed for convenience not performance. It is a small well designed vacuum that is perfect for bringing to the "one day" job site. If I have to cut a hole in the wall for a electrical box or drill a hole through a cabinet it is going to make a mess in my clients house. This vacuum is perfect for picking up after those small messes. Being that it is cordless or corded it makes it that much easier. It's compact design and well thought out ergonomics that incorporates the hose/tools are integrated into the vacuum body without protruding outwardly. It easily fits in the truck in the morning without dragging hoses or cords...and the accessories stay put unlike my shop vac. It helps me be a better carpenter for my customers. That said it is not about performance. It has about half the suction power of my standard shop vac. And as you can see from the pictures, I attached a vacuum gauge to both to prove it. And compared to the "king of the shop" Festool extractor it's not even in the ballpark. But if you are picking up dust or wood shavings this guy is up to the job. Quick and easy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Vacuum ever DeWalt should be ashamed! I purchased the more expensive corded and cordless model to make sure that it would be good at least one way. I was wrong! The first time that I used it to try to clear out my A/C condesate line, it ran for seconds on a fresh battery and even when plugged in it could barely clear out the line. I went to return it a few weeks later but did not have the box or my email receipts so I was denied. I found out that you can look up past purchases on the site at my account. I will pursue that route or go to Dewalt's site. I am very dissapointed in DeWalt. They usually make decent tools.e

We use them for vacuuming dust from hammer drilling through concrete floors in buildings and the HEPA filter never lets any dust come out the exhaust. After that, we use them for sucking water out of in-ground fixture housings so we can repair the fixture or for cleaning work areas after installations. They are powerful (even on battery power), small enough to carry on a work cart full of tools and material, and, they have a powerful suction. By the way, my 2 older Dewalt vacuums are still in use almost daily with never a hint of failure over the 3 years we have owned them. We just carefully blow out the filter when needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Little Vac. This little vac can take the place of a big shop vac for many jobs. I originally purchased this to start a siphon hose to remove water from my pool cover, which it does nicely. Being cordless eliminates the extension cord and its waterproof filter does not have to be removed. I no longer have to lug my big vac and hose out to start the siphon. Battery life is good, vacuuming out my SUV and our second car on one charge. The smaller hose diameter and the smaller attachments get into places that bigger ones can't. The short hose is no problem as you just carry the vac with you as you do the cars. Having the option of plugging it into the wall is also handy. The only shortcoming is there is no drain on it. You have to remove the top half an turn the bottom upside down to drain it. The lip around the inside will keep water inside unless you juggle it around. No big deal, but having a drain would make this a masterpiece of design and engineering.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from everything is short The power cord is short, I get that it has the ability for battery power AND extension cords are usually handy, however seems almost oddly short. Same with the extender nozzle. Had I know these facts, I would have purchased additional attachments immediately. That is my suggestion, purchase an attachment kit at the same time. I could also have gotten over one or the other but both...hmmm

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great! Works great! Nice compact, and has a cord and can use a battery. Wish it had a little more power. Still can suck up most construction debris. Saw dust, drywall, little pieces are fine but trouble with large pieces. WILL BUY AGAIN.
