Let's be clear this vacuum was designed for convenience not performance. It is a small well designed vacuum that is perfect for bringing to the "one day" job site. If I have to cut a hole in the wall for a electrical box or drill a hole through a cabinet it is going to make a mess in my clients house. This vacuum is perfect for picking up after those small messes. Being that it is cordless or corded it makes it that much easier. It's compact design and well thought out ergonomics that incorporates the hose/tools are integrated into the vacuum body without protruding outwardly. It easily fits in the truck in the morning without dragging hoses or cords...and the accessories stay put unlike my shop vac. It helps me be a better carpenter for my customers.
That said it is not about performance. It has about half the suction power of my standard shop vac. And as you can see from the pictures, I attached a vacuum gauge to both to prove it. And compared to the "king of the shop" Festool extractor it's not even in the ballpark. But if you are picking up dust or wood shavings this guy is up to the job. Quick and easy.

Hose is shorter than expected and it seems like an odd size to have to carry around while vacuuming. Cord is also very short.

The power cord is short, I get that it has the ability for battery power AND extension cords are usually handy, however seems almost oddly short. Same with the extender nozzle. Had I know these facts, I would have purchased additional attachments immediately. That is my suggestion, purchase an attachment kit at the same time. I could also have gotten over one or the other but both...hmmm

The battery power option is useless, wont even last 5 seconds on a full charged battery. It cant even pull water up the tube on 120 volt power, if you position the vacuum below the water it will pull water but only then. Biggest waste of money and space, the only positive note to add is that the shell is semi durable from the half a dozen times I have thrown it in frustation from its lack of suction.

I am really proud of DeWalt... This vacuum can use the new lithium, and the older NiCad batteries and low and behold you can even plug it in the wall socket. We use this little gem while performing Preventative Maintenance and getting all the dust, dirt and debris.... It is economical and can use multiple power sources... Great tool, Great Company... DeWalt is making it easier... Thank you.

The best car vacuum you will ever buy. The vacuum cost me $114.99 plus tax. It dors Not come with the battery. The batter is pricy. I bought a combo battery amd charger to charge the batter dor $100.00 on sale. It is worth it. They use this type of vacuum for Limousines too. Very powerful. Definitely something worth investing in that will last you for year to come.

I was just hoping for a simple portable vacuum to vac my car on the weekends, and it totally exceeded my expectations. I read reviews prior to buying and they were not really complimentry. I say with a tools manufacturer like Dewalt you'll never go wrong and if you are then return, return, return. The only con is then you have to turn around and buy a battery and charger, but other than that g8.
