The torque on this baby is insane for a battery operated drill. Warning to all of you who like your drills on max to tighten the bits in, use the clutch on 5 or less, or it will take a layer of skin off. I'm serious, the torque is that strong. The batteries charge up fast like advertised and last a long, long time. You will not be disappointed if you buy this drill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Drill / Driver / Hammer I usd this hammer drill / driver while running new electrical throughout my house a few weeks ago. Since I did not own it at the time, I borrowed it from my uncle, who is recently retired and had received this as part of his retirement gifts. He told me it was around $450. I was glad to find it for $245 after taxes and shipping from HD. Now I have my own to finish other jobs in and around my house. It was very impressive when using as a hammer drill to go through block and concrete, then turn it to a regular drill to get through wood. Then use it for mounting electrical boxes on the wall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Drill this drill is fantastic. I've been using it as a contractor, daily, for about 6 months. Very well constructed. I've dropped it off a ladder (2 stories). Just a couple scratches but works great. The drills light stays on after the drills off for a few seconds. very helpfull. The drill has tons of power, and the hammer drill works great. The drill is fairly heavy with and without a battery. (compared to other similar drills). The battery is by far the best feature. Lasts forever. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the Cadillac of cordless drills! I have several battery drills, many of which are Li ion battery driven and my dewalt takes them all to school AND takes their mommas out to a nice steak dinner afterwards. I can only speak from my own experience but having said that, the 4amp hr batteries are as rock solid as the rest of this drill. I keep my second battery in my refrigerator to prolong its life for use a year from now bc i found myself never needing to switch batteries on the job. Ive buffed and sanded paint off metal docks for hrs (putting down the R***d power drill) with a wire brush on a single battery! Well worth the ectra weight, which still is very reasonable and managable. I love having three speed settings to choose from instead of two...or only one! In the market for a new cordless drill? Spend the money and get this one because you will most certainly be more than impressed with this baaaad-mamajamma…

Rated 4 out of 5 by from overall an awesome drill This is a great drill. There were two reasons for giving the drill a less than perfect rating. The chuck is difficult to set bits at any speed. The bits tend to get caught between the teeth. And, the reversing switch is tough to use at times while using during single handed operation. I would recommend this drill to anyone looking for a powerful, and reliable tool. I am sure that once I am used to the little quirks it will be perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple to operate As a non-contractor home user, the need to drill into concrete came up. This unit was recomended by a Home Depot associate. It was a good call not only for hammer drilling, but also as a cordless drill that has plenty of power. After using a 3/8 drill motor with an electrical chord attached for many years, this is a huge upgrade. At first the price seemed steep, but so far it has been a good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than enough power I bought mine in a kit last year with a driver and haven't really abused it at all. But now I have really put this thing to the test. I got a 30" long 1 7/8" auger to bore holes in the yard. I have the 3 AH batteries and although I didn't count them I think I get about 75 holes per battery on a fresh charge. Anywhere from 8-20" deep. Rocks and roots cause the bit to drive in fast but this the drill cares less then my arms. I ordered another one because the price of a charger and 2 pack of 4 AH batteries costs the same thing. Not sure I really need a spare but why not get the drill for free. I think battery life is great. Not sure I will be able to bore holes for four batteries worth of juice without taking a good break but they charge in less than an hour. the 4 AH should take only 10 minutes longer to charge from what I have read. I wouldn't mind the smallest 1.5 AH battery for my driver though for putting up drywall. The lighter weight would be nice in that case.
