Living in South Florida in a poured concrete home, I needed a hammer drill for just about everything. I initially bought a Makita with a lithium battery and ended up swapping for a Dewalt combo kit that I later realized had NiCd batteries. The max was way more expensive until Home Depot had a Spring sale on their 20V MAX Combo Kit. Let's face it...it's the best of the best! I bought the Dewalt convertible tool box to go with it and it's the perfect all around house hold power tool kit.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Har6127 A great basic set
The hammer drill is a dream. For lighter applications. The lower torque settings help keep you from damaging the workpiece and when you need to plant solid anchors, the higher settings get through initial layers while the oscillation of hammer mode pounds out the last few mm--in. The saws are quick and easy with general applications but require a bit of reading and assembly. The light is great for dark or late evening work. A bit pricey for a basic set and the batteries seem to be the reason. For those building their toolbox, it makes an okay starter set.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DIYER Dewalt Makes the best cordless tools - lots of power.
I have used these tool a bit on my first project and the power, quality and battery life are excellent. The hammer drill is just as powerful if not more than a corded one. The reciprocating saw cuts through wood and conduit like a hot knife through butter.
I only have one warning - the reciprocating in this kit is the lower end one that only accepts the blade up or down, - not the model that also takes it sideways... I didn't realize that when I ordered it but for the cost it now I understand why. If you want that feature look to some of the other Dewalt combos they have that one.

Very happy with this purchase. I didn't know how much I would use he reciprocating saw since I had not had one before. I have ended up using it the most and it is extremely handy! It has been a lifesaver on roots when taking out a couple of trees.
I am impressed with the battery life and the speed of the recharge. Plenty of power in the tools and very convenient without worrying about extension cords. All are easy to handle and seem to be well designed. Got them at a good price and no complaints.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ToolTime Dewalt is no longer a good tool, just a name.
Where do I begin? First off the "20 volt" isn't actually 20 volts. It's a marketing ploy. That's why there's an asterisk next to the name (read the small print). The tool is made of all plastic (chuck, battery, etc). That makes it as durable as the toys kids play with now a days. The company stole ideas from other industry leaders as far as the brushless motors and didn't create a product to compete, but rather a product to keep them in the "ballpark." The pounds of torque aren't listed. Reason? they lag far behind to competitors. Do yourself a favor, buy yourself a Milwaukee!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ClassicGarage An Excellent tool set,
So my wife got me this set for my birthday, and I have to say it was a wonderful gift. There isn’t a project that I don’t use most of this set with. The hammer drill, I use every day, With the multiple settings, its perfect for drilling in everything from screws, to holes in concrete. The Led work light, is perfect to light up the dark areas that you always end up working in. The Circular saw is the best one I have ever owned. This thing will cut consistently throw ¾ in oak 4 ft. plywood sections over and over. The Reciprocating saw, I don’t use often, maybe once or twice a year. I would have liked to seen it replaced with the torque driver, or a jig saw. The 20v batteries, hold a long charge, and there is no slow decrease in power. The one hour charger, brings them back without issue, and the 2 batteries supplied make it easy to switch between tools, all in all a perfect set.
