Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dboy Great tool. Minor setbacks.
I've had this tool for about 6 months now. Hard to beat the utility of cordless tools. Bought this as a bare tool option. Overall I am satisfied with the saw. Some caveats: the blade does tend to stray a little. Seems to do more so than others but I guess it just encourages more attention during cutting. Just like other users I have experienced the strange phenomenon of the blade popping out. It's also happened with my co-worker also. Perhaps the result of sloppy engineering (or better yet: precision engineering). Make your own opinion but I would still go be this saw a "buy" rating. Let's hope they figure out the ghost blade-release problem sooner rather than later!

The T blades will not stay in, I tried the blades included as well as Bosh and BD brand, noine will stay in. In addition the flush blade that is supplied with the tool also clamps at a 10 degree angle to the tool, that's until the blade falls out after about 2 inches of cut. Really could not evaluate anything else since I could not use. with all the running around and loss of time on the job this is a very expensive tool.
Very discouraging as I have been trying to update all my tools to 20V of one manufacturer. Well once again its proven you cant just blindly assume all will be good because of a color.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Leo Great Jig Saw
I bit the bullet and went cordless with both jig saw and drill, both 20 volt. Glad to see that they decided to sell this unit without the battery and charger. I have used both quite a bit and like them both. Some have reported that the T-blades are dropping out and I have not experienced that problem. I have made sure that the blades are fully inserted before starting and that has worked for me so far. Easy to use and fits the hand nice. Has the power and battery life seems long lasting. Appears to be constructed well. It has a good weight and size to it.
Cons: NO CASE!!! I stand on everything I have stated above. But no case for a $150.00 tool was almost enough for me to walk away from it. If I buy a quality tool I expect it to last and not knocked around during storage and transporting it. For the price I think DEWALT could have put it in a case.

It was nice to work with a good quality tool that uses a common battery as my other tools. It performed very well.

I had to cut a 4x4 cedar post into 2 foot lengths. Everyone said not to use jigsaw, but I didn't have another power tool and a hand saw would have taken some time. I was just going to see if the Dewalt worked - if not I would have stopped.
Cut through the 4x4 with ease! Great tool

Bought this to replace a 15 year old b&d jigsaw. Hated that thing. Cut at a 30 degree angle when pushed (slop in the mechanism) and dropped blades every 20 seconds. Irritating. Ironically the cheaper dewalt jigsaw had negative reviews indicating it did the same thing. Bought this model based on the lack of similar negative reviews. Used it this weekend for cutting laminate flooring and it worked great. Blades did not shoot out of it and it cut straight! Orbital cutting mechanism and plastic base plate cover were a plus. There was also a plastic device that prevented chipping or flaking when cutting laminate materials. It looked hokey but it worked. Very happy with it. One warning, it uses only T shank style blades. Had to donate all the old style ones as they would not stay in the saw.
