Product Overview

Install a safety grab bar or towel ring on your tiled wall with the aid of a DEWALT 3/16 in. Diamond Drill Bit. The welded-diamond tip is designed to bore through abrasive, dense tiles, including glazed porcelain and ceramic in addition to rock-hard, solid-body porcelain. It operates at high speeds courtesy of reverse-spiral threads that allow continuous water cooling so you can complete drilling work quickly and cleanly. Plugged material is easily removable from the core-ejection slot so you can make repeated cuts without slowing down.

  • Ideal for use by bath and kitchen installers and commercial and residential plumbers
  • Reverse spiral thread allows continuous water feed for longer life and increased speed
  • Creates 3/16 in. holes in tile walls and countertops to install accessories like safety grab bars, water supply lines, towel bars, toilet paper dispensers and paper towel holders
  • Hardened alloy steel construction stands up to repeated use and high-heat conditions with proper water cooling

I am interested in getting a core sample from a material. Hoping to get a core diameter of 4mm which would correspond to the ID of the drill bit. I'm wondering what OD drill bit size has an ID bore that is closest to 4mm (or slightly below).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Drill Bit Works, But hard to get started. It slides around on the plate before I can get a hole drilled. October 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great results Drilled 6 holes for towel bars in very hard porcelain tile. key is to start the hole at a 45 degree angle and then once started then drill at 90 degrees to complete hole. Bit drilled all with ease and is still good for any future projects. These tiles burned thru half a dozen other bits of different manufacturers. September 24, 2013
