3/4 in. to 1-3/4 in. Coil Roofing Nailer is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Good Nail Gun for the Price and for My Project I reroofed my house and needed a roofing nail gun, but because I only needed the gun for this job, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on the tool like I would if I roofed for a living. I found this DeWalt on sale at HD for $160, so I went with it knowing that I've always been happy with my DeWalt cordless drills and miter saws. I shingled 18 squares of comp shingles with no issues aside from normal, rare jambs. Jams were easily cleared using the side door, and even a particularly awkward jam was easy to clear with a tap of the jammed nail using another nail and then opening the side door. The gun had no issues shooting through 1/2" CDX and at times through both the 1/2" CDX and 1" skip sheathing underneath--so approx. 1-1/4" of wood in those areas. It is light, and I like the ergonomics/balance. The reveal gauge stayed in place after setting. There is plenty of depth adjustment. The anti-skid rubber nubs on the sides do a good job keeping the gun from sliding on paper, shingles, and flashing. The reason I rate it a "good" and not excellent is because the canister's plastic housing does not seem very well reinforced in its own molded design, so I can see this being a weak link especially down at the hinge for long-term abuse. There are metal wings on the side to protect the canister when the gun is set down, but the plastic housing still seems weak in relationship to the rest of the gun. Thicker walls or some ribbing would probably be better, or even an alloy canister. Overall, especially for the sale price, I think it's a good gun, and I recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke Down I purchased this Roofing nailer thinking Dewalt would not let me down and it did. After nailing half my roof it started dry firing because the driver was not retracting itself to load another nail. I retured to HD and bought a Bostich
