CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Top end product for its class The product performs well. It has enough power to run alot of tools. Make sure your breaker is at least 20a. This thing runs at 15 which will trip a 15a breaker in most situations. Product is shipped with oil already in it. Make sure you leave it right side up when bringing it home or the oil will leak out all over the place. Dewalt should have just kept a seperate thing of oil for the customer to add. Its heavy too, not ideal for portability unless you are 6'5" and 350 lbs. February 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great compressor, 155PSI Great compresssor, really like the 155PSI capability. I added an elbow to the tank drain because it was hard to reach. March 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by All the compressor I'll ever need... I am a big Dewalt fan, ever since working in a shop for building scenery for theatrical productions. Their tools are very well built, with great durability and power. This compressor is no exception - it's great! It builds up to 150+ lbs of pressure in ~10 minutes from an empty tank. Kicks back on when it gets to ~100 psi. It's reasonably "quiet" - I've certainly used much louder compressors - but it may be hard to hold a normal conversation while its compressing air... It holds pressure extremely well - I leave it for weeks with 100+ psi in it, and every time I check it, it hasn't dropped at all. So nice to have that air ready all the time! I highly recommend changing out the drain mechanism on the tank - it's very difficult to reach and turn it to drain water. I'd put a 90 street elbow on there, with a small lead of regular pipe, going to a nice ball valve. That's what I'm going to do, so I can open the drain more easily. With the ability to put out 7 CFM at 40 psi, and nearly 6 CFM at 90 PSI, it'll run everything I'll ever need it to. And it's super nice that you can just plug it in to any 120V socket (you DO want to make sure it's on a 20A breaker, as it really pulls some serious amps, especially at startup!) If you are going to transport it from the store to your home, be ready to deal with spilled oil, if you lay it down from any length of time (more than a few minutes). We had to travel ~30 minutes, and a good bit of the oil came out. Still had enough in it, though, to run just fine, and complete the break-in procedure. I eventually purchased the Dewalt synthetic compressor oil off of Amazon -- it's blue -- and topped it off. The pneumatic wheels really help when moving this thing around, though it's heavy enough that I hope I never have to roll it through uneven/grassy terrain by myself! Cast iron is heavy! Overall, 100% satisfied! Great product - will enjoy using this for years and years... July 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works great with no problems at all Shipping on time and inspected at the store upon arrival. Got it home and plugged it up and it worked perfectly after brake in procedure. Access to gauges and air supply easy to use. Pumped up to full pressure as advertised and builds up fast. It kicks on at 90 psi so air tools are easily supplied with the correct operating pressure. So far I am completely satisfied and don't expect any problems. March 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This is an excellent compressor after hiccups getting it set up Home Depot was excellent to deal with in ordering the DeWalt air compressor. The price was very good. The staff was helpful. When I got it home and set it up there were two small problems... 1. The instructions said to ensure there was oil halfway up the sight glass. I didn't see any oil in the sight glass, so added more. Oops - the oil celar and it was already overfull, so I had to drain out the oil I had just put in. It made a mess. But after a couple hours I got the mess cleaned up and the oil was halfway up the sight glass. Minor inconvenience. 2. The compressor came fully assembled, which was very helpful, but the front legs had only been finger tightened. When I ran the compressor for a half hour with the drain petcock open to break in the compressor per instructions, the vibration loosened the front feet and they fell off. I struggled with the 200 pound compressor to get the feet back on and tighten them - a two handed operation while holding up the heavy compressor. Summary - after the initial hiccups, the compressor runs nicely, its much quieter than my old compressor, and I'm happy with it. February 26, 2014
