Since this item is an online order only, as a retired military serviceman can I receive the 10% discount as offered in Home Depot stores?

Asked by: Gary
I have had this problem in the past. I am on VA disability so I have to make every penny count. You can return the item to customer service and then re-purchase it with your veteran's discount. It's kind of a pain but I'm polite about it and Home Depot has never let me down!

What is the decibel rating ??
Asked by: Steve
Hi. The manufacturer states it is 78 decibels. Depending on the construction and size of the units location, it could be lower or higher. I have mine in an attached, insulated, drywall 2 car garage against a wall with 12" clearance from the wall. I would say my unit is a little quieter at about 70 decibels. If you have cement block construction it could be louder because the sound will echo off the walls.

Does this compressor come with everything shown in the picture, i.e. both gauges, regulator and coupling as shown?
Asked by: Rick
This compressor comes with everything in the picture. The only thing you will need to provide is the hose and connector. You will also need to fill it with oil when it comes. There is a little window that shows the oil level. It's difficult to see the oil level. I overfilled mine at first and had to remove some. I love this compressor. I purchased and installed a 3-way quick connector on mine. I run one hose directly from the compressor. That one usually has a blow gun attached. The second connector is used for a hose to my ceiling hose reel. The third connector is available to run other tools if I choose.

I'm pretty happy with this compressor. it is replacing my sears direct drive of similar design. main reason is noise. it is in my garage and I read that the dewalt type is fairly quiet. I checked it out. when I received it I compared the 2 with my db meter. The sears was 100 db (really freaking loud), the dewalt was 78. Both from a few feet away. a huge difference. when I would use the old one I put on hearing protectors it was so loud. I believe the sears put out more air so its a little bit of a trade off. BUT--the dewalt goes to 150# the sears 125. It comes on around 110 and cuts off at 155. then cools off to about 150. I did not like the drain so I changed to an elbow and ball valve and extension pipe all 1/4". It did not look like there was enough room but it fit. that is something they could change, is give you a little more room under it. It does not leak down so that is another plus. I use my compressor quite often, for many cars, painting small items, a blast cabinet, blow out the garage, etc. I really don't see any major downsides. It is inline with other compressors of this size and type. I do wish it put out a little more air but that would mean going to 220v which I don't have in my garage.

The controls are well located and design, with the vertical tank, takes up little space. It's single serious flaw is well-known: the tank drain at the the bottom. It is essential unusable; very "Un-DeWalt". But it is also easily corrected, with about $15 worth of plumbing parts, all available at Home Depot. The solution is easy to find on the web; but DeWalt itself should remedy the problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GREAT VALUE FOR PRICE All that I expected and more from DEWALT. From the reviews that I have read prior to my purchase I have only one negative thing that I agree with, and that is the drain at the bottom of the tank is a drawback and should be addressed by the manufacturer. I did what someone else had done and elbowed it out to the edge for ease of drainage. I would think that an engineer would have had the cense to either do what I have done, or raised the tank a couple of inches to allow for the tank to be drained properly. It's a fix that the consumer shouldn't have to do if the design teem would have asked for input of the end user. Overall a good product save this short coming (pun intended). PS: NO LEAKES, AIR or OIL. Break in Procedure went as expected, slight smell of new rubber as expected, and modification to the drain with street elbow, coupling, and 6" of pipe comes very close to the ground, but way better than having to tilt the entire compressor and lean it against something at the handles while blocking the wheels so they don't roll just to open and close the drain. Which brings me to the final point of Weight and that is only an issue with the drain issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dewalt Quality and Price Picked up at store. The compressor was strapped to a pallet and loaded on my trailer by forklift. I was able to unload easily using ramp on the trailer. The instructions were clear about run nun at no load for 30 minutes. The compressor performs well. The one negative is that the noise level in my shop is > 85 decibels. It is rated at 78 outside, so I guess I should have expected that. It is okay if you stay about 3 feet away from it. I also wish the tank was mounted a little higher so that it is easier to get to the drain valve. I also added a shutoff valve to the air line for convenience. Overall, I am well satisfied and would recommend this compressor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice compressor overall; shipping carton inadequate Good overall performance; draws less current than my old Sanborn 2 HP compressor, which often popped the 15amp breaker. Fairly quiet operation--for a compressor. Would have preferred semi-pneumatic tires instead of the inflatable ones, although I don't plan on moving it much. Drain valve poorly placed under the tank; very difficult to reach and open (screw-type) unless the compressor is tipped diagonally. (Should have an elbow and pipe extension.) The shipping carton really needs to be reinforced and padded better, since that's where the delicate parts are. Compressor arrived with one gauge smashed and the compressor transfer tube (air outlet pipe) was bent and leaking air. I straightened and tightened the tube and have temporarily installed a gauge from my old (donor) compressor. Hoping this compressor lasts as long as my old one (30+ years). However, the tank is certified for only ten years use; cost of replacing it unknown.
