Customer Reviews

4-in-1 Heavy-Duty Staple and Brad Tacker is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 69.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the quality I expected My dissatisfaction with this stapler is mostly based on the fact that it broke the very first time I used it. I was able to put in about ten staples before the hardened steel driving blade shattered. Now it only drives one leg of the staple and mangles the other. Another annoyance about this stapler is the safety locking lever, which you can see at the very front end of the operating lever. If you use this stapler upside-down, the lever falls down and locks with every action, making it extremely difficult to use for, say, attaching insulation to pitched ceilings or walls. I tried using tape or other means to hold it out of the way, but eventually just tore it off because it's a poorly-conceived safety feature anyway. I replaced this stapler with a more expensive DeWalt model that I'm unable to even load the staples into (it uses the same T50 staples, or so I thought when I read the label.. they just don't fit). I will be returning it and going back to my cheap old Arrow stapler, which hurts my hands and can't fully penetrate framing lumber or MDF but has never failed to operate. This product has made me question my brand loyalty to DeWalt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4-in-1 Staple Gun I recently purchased this staple gun because I really needed a new one for the project that I was working on. I chose this one because it felt sturdy, with a solid metal body. It looked great! And, it had multiple functions, but could do the standards that I needed it for. It works wonderfully and is a delight to use, the rubber grip really beats out using a clunky full metal counterpart. At one point I was using heavy duty staples and every time I tried to set one it would jam up in the gun, I had noticed other reviewers complaining about this as well. Turns out it was because I had the black plastic mode switch that is affixed to the top of the staple gun set to the wrong mode. Once I put it on heavy duty it worked find. I did not experience any jams when using the proper setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Addressing the 1-star reviews! I bought this staple gun and I love the feel and the power of this staple gun. I was skeptical due to all of the poor reviews on how it keeps jamming. I read several of these 1 star reviews claiming the tool was junk and kept jamming. I have a strong feeling that these people did not realize there is a toggle switch to choose between light duty and heavy duty staples. If this is set wrong then of course the tool will not work properly. I am happy I ignored these ignorant people's reviews and bought this staple gun. I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly versatile I had needed a staple gun for a while now, you know, for the occasional hanging of Christmas decorations and such, but when I was tasked with fixing the entertainment center, refurnishing the bar stools, and getting the network cables tacked up, I knew I needed something better than ye olde standard gun. This thing does EVERYTHING! I love that you can use light or heavy duty staples, cable tacks and brad nails, and that there is a setting for more or less power depending on how deeply set you need the staple to go. It is lightweight, compact, heavy duty, easy to use and even has a nice clip to hang off a belt or tool box! I debated paying that little bit extra for all about as long as it took me to review the features on the packaging!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just did not work! I was excited to have the versatility of using staples, cable staples and brads all in one tool. However, and rather curiously like a previous reviewer, only the first staple actually worked. All staples after that bound up between the spring loading mechanism and striker. I'll be returning it today.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The Stapler that Eats Staples Bought this stapler and a box of Arrow T50x1/2" staples for tacking up ~75' of 10' wide 6 mil plastic op wood for a project. Unfortunately this stapler liked eating the staples more then it liked stapling the plastic... When using the low power setting it would have 1 good strike for every four staples that were eaten. Using the high power mode it would eat three staples for every good strike. Not sure if this is an individual product defect as I cannot find anything visually wrong with any of the components, so I will be returning this stapler and trying another brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use and works Great I needed a small brad driver that did not require batteries, air, or fuel cells, to get into tight areas, and be convenient to use. This little tool filled the bill. I was attaching trim strips inside a cabinet and this worked just fine. I didn't even need a nail set . Thanks Dewalt, and thanks Home Depot! Paul

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I don't own every Dewalt product, but this is without a doubt the worst one I do own. Even usin... I don't own every Dewalt product, but this is without a doubt the worst one I do own. Even using the Dewalt brand of staples, the gun begins malfunctioning after around 75% of a load of staples has been used. Every other staple or sometimes every staple causes the gun to jam. I am going to try it with the cable staples to determine if it will work any better. If it does not, it goes back to Home Depot.
