Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good sander Good sander that fits comfortable in your hand. Would recommend this tool. July 2, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The 3.5 amp motor is great & wont bog down easily ! The low profile is great for control & getting into tight spaces, but it's kinda chunky & awkward on vertical work, I have big hands & still haven't found a good place to grip it w/ I need to get it sideways. I think someone w/ smaller hands would have a harder time. The Brake function Rocks ! No more gauging or waiting to set it down ! The speed control is an important feature, the extra power can cause it to skip w/ heavy grd. paper so it needs to be slowed down. Good vacuum & less dust. Great Sander , Great price for an H.D. finish Sander at only $85.00 ! Pete Williamsen, Handyman / Craftsman. October 29, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Went through 6 of these in one Summer While working for a golf course, I burned up 6 of these sanders in one summer refinishing log siding. But of course, I was sanding a 8,000 sq. ft. cedar log home and a 40,000 sq. ft. two story all cedar restaurant & banquet center. I would still recommend the product, but just don't expect it to last more than 60 hrs of continuous running. I buy about 30 of these a year! They outlast the rest of them. I also get laughed at alot about these claims. Like a Sikkens rep. that laughed at me when I told him I use 500 gallons of their log & siding product a year refinishing log. OH Well! I just don't use Sikkens anymore, they're only losing 30 to 40 grand a year in product sales. April 8, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Highly Recommended This sander (and it's Porter Cable sibling) are the best 5" random orbit sanders I have ever used. Aside from sanding which the all do, the things that make this a standout for me are; 1> Low vibration. 2> Good dust collection when hooked to a vacuum. 3> The very short time it takes for the pad to stop spinning after turning it off. It is a bit wide across the top, which might be uncomfortable for folks with small hands. February 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Low-Profile sander! I have read some of the other reviews on this product and I'm not sure what the problems are that they are having, but, for my shop use, this has been an outstanding, go-to sander. I build fine furniture as a hobby, and I demand a lot of my tools. This sander has held up well in my shop for the past 2 years now and I'm very pleased with it. The low-profile housing is great for fitting in to tight spaces and also helps reduce tipping which minimizes unwanted blemishes from sanding. The hook and loop pad makes changing back and forth from different grits a snap! Of course, for building furniture in my spare time, I'm not putting this to use for hours on end. Sometimes I'll use it for up to an hour or so, and, by then, my sanding needs are met until the next day. As with any tool in this price category, running their motors for hours on end is going to cause a huge amount of motor destroying heat. I would suggest an industrial grade product for 24/7 use. However, I would expect any hobby woodworker to be pleased with the performance of this tool! May 19, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor performance I gave an overall poor rating because this sander has very little power and will stall while sanding,as in it stops spinning and just vibrates or sticks.it got a good quality rating from me just because it seems to be well built. I am returning it. April 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Did the job This random orbital sander did the job it was intended to do and I am satisfied with my purchase. September 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We appreciate the good quality of this sander This sander is the first of it's kind that we have tried. Simple to operate and manuver. Very happy with the performance of the sander. May 21, 2013
