Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Donny I bought this for small projects but decided to try using it on a timber frame home when it came time to prep for the oil finish. This thing turned out to be a workhorse. It is much gentler on the pine than a belt sander would have been and this held up in construction like conditions. Literally running all day for several days. Also, the dust collection works really well for a tool like this.
The only downside is the switch is sometimes hard to turn on due to the dust protecter cover, but this doesn't bother me. May be a problem if you have large fingers.

I have heard from a number of people, including a salesman in a store that this product burns out easily if use on a regular basis. I use mine (as well as the palm sanders) on a daily basis and they are all at least 4 yeras old. All that is needed is to remove the base and put a little lubricant in the cam area underneath. I use film lube. If this is not done I can see that the macine would burn out because the cam becomes seized. So a little preventative maintenance will give you a very good little sander for a reasonable price for years to come.

I got this sander for Christmas last year, What a great tool, It works awesome, very smooth operation, doesn't jump and jitter around like my old Black & Decker.
I use it all the time at home as well as at work, It collects quite a bit of dust in the exhaust which is nice you don't have a ton of dust in the air. It also comes with it's own hard case which is nice to store different sanding disc's in, It also has room for my disc cleaner / eraser. I would buy again in a heart beat.

I've been getting a lot of use out of this sander. Paper changes are quick and easy. The machine is light and handy to use. As someone else mentioned, the power switch is recessed in such a way it can be difficult to turn the machine on and off.
The dust collection helps keep the dust down a bit.
I have also found that I'm not using the variable speed option.

I use this sander all the time. I purchased one years ago and wore the pad out so I bought another one. Then I found out you can replace the pad so I bought a new pad for the old sander and now I have two! I use one for coarse grits and one for finer grits. Great durable sander!

Plently of power, dust bag is great. Wish the cord was a little longer, but I guess that's what extension cords are for. Variable speed is a great feature, especially when finishing. In my opinion this sander competes with other orbitals that are twice the price.

I've had an old Makita palm sander that was atrocious for getting dust everywhere. I picked up this DeWalt and was amazed at the dust collection. Coupled with a 60 grit disc will actually remove a lot of material if you need it to. Excellent value for money.

Great little sander. Lots of power and the dust collection works great. The cord isnt as long as the milwaukee, but its a high quality tool. I've worn out a brake or two so the pad spins out of control, but thats a cheap and easy fix. Would recommend this
