Very good for cutting down material. A little too much for final sanding. Also the price was very good for it,s quality.

to find an adapter to the dust shroud is impossible, to keep it steady is impossible, and to use it more than 10 times without the Velcro coming off the bar pad is impossible. don't waste your money on the brand BC they failed miserably here

I was a cabinetmaker for 30 years, this sander will cut through dry glue w/ ease and has a lot of power.
If used properly you can really get a nice finish.
The variable speed is really helpful to control the tool and keep it flat.
I bought it to build a cedar canoe and was well worth the $$$$

I am working on a big project and was informed by my amazing Uncle that there is no way around some of the dirty work... aka sanding. I told him my old sander wasn't cutting it. The paper came off every time I did anything with it. He said my Aunt just bought a DeWalt and so I went on a search. I looked and found one online at Sears, but I would rather take it home same day than wait on shipping. I found the variable speed Dewalt, same model, same kit for $15 less at HomeDepot then Sears. Plus Homedepot does Military discounts. Much less than what I would have paid at Sear even with a coupon and no md. When I got home I set straight to work. Night and day difference from my last sander. This one was smooth and I could turn up the speed for the heavier areas. My Uncle said his works good as new and he has been using it for months.

I got it for dustless natural stone sanding (marble granite) Dust removal works well even with regular sandpaper (without holes). it has less RPM and Torque than industry standard Makita GV5010. I do not recommend to use it in corners as i damaged some of that rubber dust cover trying to do so....

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 68bevr A good general purpose sander
I bought and used this sander to prepare the surface of a fiberglass boat hull for some extensive repairs. I was pleased by the modest weight of the tool, the comfort and control offered by the two grips and the vibration level. I also appreciate the fact that it can utilize commonly availabe sanding disks. I can't give it five stars because I can't evaluate its durability at this time.
