This Heavy Duty Plate Joiner Kit is powered by a 6.5-Amp 10,000 RPM motor that provides power for working in the hardest woods. The dual rack and pinion fence ensures blade and fence are always parallel for accurate joints every time.

I bought mine new. Checked the settings by cutting a couple pieces of scrap then marking the biscuits to ensure depth of cut was 1/32 deeper per side than the biscuit center. I checked all three settings, all were good. I had to adjust the depth setting tension but that was only an Allen wrench (provided).

Without more information I cannot tell if the plate joiner in the picture is reconditioned or new. I recently ordered the same tool from Home Depot. It was new.

One would assume that when laminating two pieces of wood together using a sophisticated biscuit joiner the two pieces would pretty close to perfect alignment, but that's not the case. Sometimes the two pieces align well, but in other cases they are so far unaligned that much sanding is required, that same as I would do before I bought the joiner.

My choice in ordering this was based on the DeWALT brand name and the high rating given the product by other customers. It hasn't disappointed. I'm a novice cabinet maker and never used a biscuit joiner previously. This one seems rugged, powerful, is easy to use and works as advertised.

Joiner is well-designed, well-built, and works as advertised. Manual has adequate information, but is on a single sheet and therefore inconvenient to handle. A small booklet format would be better. HD price is also lower than many sources for this model.

I bought this joiner to make wider boards out of the stock red oak boards offered at Home Depot. The biscuit joiner was the perfect tool for my needs. Additionally, the stock red oak 1 x 6 boards I bought at HD were of sufficient quality that I was able to join them without additional planing to clean up the sides, and the joints came out just fine. I first used the tool to make some "floating" nightstands, then a simple tray table. They both came out great. The tool is simple to use, came with good instructions, and the biscuits and glue were also available at HD. And, Home Depot had the best price I could find on the DeWalt joiner. All in all, a satisfied customer.
