Answer:
NO It does not come with a battery . It plugs into the wall and charges Dewalt Batteries from 7,2 Volts to 18 Volts. It is very sturdy and great for the jobsite and handy for charging your battery while using your Dewalt tool with additional battery.

7.2-Volt to 18-Volt Heavy-Duty Worksite Charger Radio is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound, durable!!! Definitely a good buy, rugged radio that is built to last! Rides around in the back of my truck all day and works like a beast when it needs. If you want to go Bluetooth, grab a Bluetooth receiver online for like $10, skip the Dewalt version, overpriced....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall really good purchase. We had researched, read a ton of reviews, etc the different heavy duty radios, finally settling on the Dewalt. We had full intentions of returning if it didn't live up to our expectations, but it has been great. We take it camping & to the river where we had never gotten reception & have enjoyed music for hours. The battery lasts for hours & hours. We have hooked up our laptop to it to enjoy the speakers while we watch a movie outdoors camping. Good purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Radio reception very good I was very pleased how good the radio reception was considering my distance from Atlanta stations and the stubby antenna. I was only expecting to be able to play Pandora from my iphone. Sound quality and volume is very good. I like the tank like tough cabinet. Looks good on top of my new DeWalt tool chests.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Expensive but good radio would be nice if played cd's - even if I am dating myself... Expensive for a radio/charger but if deWalt 18v is you current system, you are left with little choice. Does not hold time on clock or radio presets. I am guessing the coin cell battery is dead. Called DeWalt thinking they would send me one but they said they would not - but I could pick one up at a drugstore. Gee, never thought of that myself. So I guess my main beef is with DeWalt...If I pay almost 200 bucks for a radio, I would think the battery that comes in it should work, and if not they should fix the issue. Toying with the idea of returning it but I probably will just get a battery for it... My one experience with the DeWalt company and I would say the rep on the phone was rude and unhelpful.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible Sound Bought this because all of my tools are Dewalt and love to listen to the radio while I work. I was truly disappointed by the poor sound. As someone put it, "sounds like the music is playing underwater", not clear at all. Very surprised Dewalt would put out a product like this as i've always found their power tools to be well built?? The charging capibility is great, the extra plugs is a good idea although i'm not sure i would ever use them. I wanted this for some time and even considered changing out the speakers myself but at the end of the day, the extra costs just didn't make sense since this radio is $150 as is. I will be taking it back and possibly getting the Milwaakee as the reviews were good on it.
