Product Overview

DEWALT Bi-Metal Hole Saws are among the fastest-cutting, longest-lasting hole saws available anywhere. Each has a double-tooth design and sharper tooth geometry to cut faster and cleaner through a variety of jobsite materials, including wood, metal and plastics. Its extra-thick, hardened backing plate prevents thread stripping, and the deep-cut design easily saws through 2-by lumber in a single pass.

  • Double- tooth design for added durability in metal cutting applications
  • Sharper tooth geometry cuts faster vs. competition
  • Extra-thick, hardened backing plate prevents thread stripping
  • For use in wood, metal or plastics

Customer Questions & Answers

What do I need to order in order to chuck this hole saw in a drill?

Asked by: Willy
Hi Willy, you will need a hole saw arbor, preferably with a pilot bit. The base of the arbor screws into the base of the hole saw. This leaves the arbor end ready to fit into your drill chuck. The pilot bit fits in the center of the arbor. The pilot bit drills into the material. This bit helps stabilize the hole saw as it engages the material. This allows for a smooth cut. Take a look at the link below, which shows the pilot bit and the arbor together, Enjoy. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-3-8-in-Large-Hole-Saw-Arbor-49-56-7040/203113659#.UpzCSSe4dI0

Customer Reviews

7/8 in. Bi-Metal Hole Saw is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shallow depth of cut Despite an overall length of 2-1/8", the depth of cut is barely 1-1/2 inches due to a wide shoulder on the inside and a weld bead on the outside. This is not always sufficient to cut through 1-1/2" material (2" nominal lumber) in one pass if sawdust builds up inside. I bought it for the extra length to cut through historic studs averaging about 1-5/8" thick--those definitely took 2 passes. The back plate is far heavier than it needs to be (nice flywheel, that), but is threaded maybe one thread deeper than average. On the plus side, it cuts well.
