Do I need a microphone?

Asked by: chris
you have a radio that does not Bluetooth but does have an Aux input (think of an older car that only has the Aux input) having this turns your car or radio into a Bluetooth enabled device so there would be no need for a mic :D

Does it work with headphones?

It looks like a great device but does it HAVE to be used as a receiver for a radio? Can it also be used as a bluetooth receiver for a pair of headphones or a standalone speaker?

Is this just a "receiver" or can is be used as a transmitter (output)"?

Is this just a "receiver" or can is be used as a transmitter (output)"? from say a small mp3 player? I prefer using MP3 players instead of my phone to play music. If this transmits and also receives. (say paring 2 of them together),.. it see a lot of useful situations. I'm waiting on what the experts say,.. before I purchase.
Asked by: mh49503
Great Question mh49503. This adapter receives from device and transmits to a non-bluetooth item thus changing it to a bluetooth. I don't think you can pair 2 of them. During a phone call you will need to be near your radio and speak at the radio speakers to communicate. It is a better music streamer. I stream MP3 and use this for that purpose. Hope this helps. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now I need more Blutooth transmitters I have an assortment of Bluetooth receivers, speakers and one head set but not a radio combo. Now I can use my Dewalt Field, Work radio and listen to Pandora with no commercials. Easy to pair and works great. Haven't used long enough to see just how long it lasts on a single charge but so far has lasted over 10 hrs., off and on. I have two headsets, one with and one without Bluetooth, both you can plug in AUX. Now I have two with Bluetooth. Have to try and see if I can plug into the AUX jack in the truck.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Takes over microphone but has no microphone. Nice little unit for an iPod type device, but on an iPhone it hyjacks the microphone input. So no Siri or phone calls when it's parred with the phone (even though the instructions claim you can use the phone). Likely means the electronics in it identify themselves as having a mic but don't have one wired in. Sadly iOS doesn’t let you change the input source.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must Have For someone as myself who owns three radios two which our jobsite radios loves this bluetooth adapter. Those somewhat on the expensive side I was getting tired of being tied to a cord and not having my phone near me. Once charged it works as advertised. The quality of the music depending on the radio is excellent also the volume can be turned up quite loud. Dewalt has given this little electronic a two year warranty which is not bad so keep your receipt handy. I expect all future radios will have this feature but until then this is the way to go.
