Customer Questions & Answers

Can you hook it up to Wi-Fi or blue tooth to electronically control it?

Asked by: Washed
Yes, if you're modestly handy. I added a Rasberry Pi to mine to control the pressure actuator. Working on building out a tread-based propulsion system (think tank tracks). I'm using air pressure to make elevation changes to the wand which had been pretty effective. Check out my YouTube channel for details.

does this unit come with oil added to motor and pump from factory

Asked by: bubba
There is oil in the pump and a little oil in the motor to lubricate it. You will need to add oil before start up.

Honda GX200 3,400 psi 2.5 GPM Gas Pressure Washer is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 128.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not for everyone, but it is a great machine Dewalt makes great tools, no doubt about it. This pressure washer is not for the everyday user in my opinion. Unless you read the manual thoroughly you will surely have problems with this machine, however, if you follow the directions, it works great. Most of the comments I read are probably from users who just take it home, add water and gas and start using the machine without any sense of direction. Too many comments about blown pumps, AAA pumps are time tested and guaranteed for 5 years. You can not let these machines run wide open with the trigger released ( READ THE MANUAL) for more than 2 min. (Major pump damage from doing this) Simply shut it off and do your texting or whatever after it is shut down. Most people with a little common sense will have little trouble using this machine. A IQ test prior to purchasing would probably eliminate all the negative feedback given this machine. My machine runs great, no problems.

Very easy to setup and use out of the box....put on the handle, fill up the engine with oil and gas, flip the switch and crank the cord. I have had this product for about 6 months with no issues. I use it for paint prep, cleaning driveways, and some personal chores around the house. So far have used it about 100 hours without any issues. I make sure to follow all maintenance instructions and use only a NON ethanol gasoline. This pressure washer rocks and of course who doesn't love another DeWalt tool.

Took awhile to get it started the first time (like 40 pulls) but after that it runs good. Two complaints..... 1. the hose is ridiculously short. Constantly have to move the entire machine around to reach my entire back yard. 2. This machine vibrates and moves around a lot on concrete! I have a pool in my backyard and had a very close call the first time using it with the entire thing almost vibrating itself right into the pool. Had to keep a close eye on it after that to avoid disaster. A longer hose would solve this problem because it stays put when set on the grass. I seriously cant get over how short the hose is!! Make sure to run plenty of water and clear the air out of the pump before pulling the trigger for pressure. I think this is why so many have complaints about the pump failing.

The Honda engine is great, but the AAA pump is worthless, and the DeWalt customer service to get it replaced was abysmal. At 6 months from date of purchase, with less than 10 hours of usage, the pump stopped working right in the middle of spraying. At first, pressure dropped to about 1/3 of what it was, and then it stopped altogether. After waiting several days for a response from DeWalt, I found out that only a "DeWalt Factory Service Center" is authorized to do warranty work and the closest one was about 110 miles from me. BTW, I live in Santa Barbara, CA so it's not like I'm in the middle of nowhere. I'd have to take it there and leave it, and then come back and pick it up after they shipped the old pump back and waited for and installed a replacement pump. And, if that wasn't bad enough, the replacement pump "may be a refurbished unit"! I then went to several local tool repair shops in town and every single one said that the AAA/FNA pump (made in China) that comes with the unit is utter garbage, and not to replace it with another AAA/FNA pump or I'd be throwing more of my money away. So, as not to completely lose my investment, I sprung for another $269 and ordered an American made CAT pump that I was able to easily install myself and it is working flawlessly. Seriously DeWalt, a great engine and a solid frame... why blow it with an inferior pump? Bottom line, DON'T buy this unit unless you live within acceptable distance of a DeWalt Factory Service Center and you have the time to deal with replacing the pump.

Great product for the 6 times that it was used. I take extremely good care of all of my tools especially the ones that I spend this much money on. The 6th time that I went to use my dewalt pressure washer the honda engine started with no issue but I was getting no pressure out of the pump. After some research I have discovered several people that have had this same issue. The pump is poorly designed and fails after ~20 hours use. I wish I had looked at these reviews before I made this purchase. I am looking for a replacement pump so that I can use my pressure washer this coming spring and am finding thus far it will cost $300 plus for the part. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRESSURE WASHER!!!

Pressure washer is very strong, took the dried clay off my jeep with no problem. started easy , ran great and i think this will do any jobs i throw at it. Definitely meets my expectations. just bought today and took about 20 minutes to put the handle on and put oil in it and it was ready to go. it would be nice if it had a longer hose but everything else is great !!!

Excellent pressure. If you follow the operating and maintenance instructions(ie, do not run more than 2 minutes without spraying, pump will overheat.). Only problem I have had is when on smooth concrete, machine will not stay still. I made a weight system to solve this. I recommend this pressure washer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW !!! this unit has plenty of power. I had had trouble with a Ryobi 3100 PSI washer I purchased 2 years ago. Last year I took it in to get it fixed it was still under warranty the idle down mode would not allow it to go back to full pressure, it still cost over $100 for the labor. After a year I had the same problem. I spoke with the Store Manager via phone and she told me to bring in the unit, which I did. She was great, and works out of the 38th Street Store in Indy. She gave me in store credit for the total I paid for the Ryobi whish allowed me to purchase the Dewalt. it has great power and very easy to start. I have used it for over 10 hours the last 2 weekends, it works great. It does have an oil sensor, and if it is a little low on oil it will not start, it looked like it had enough oil, it did not. Always read the directions. I also really like the the Honda power I have had a Honda push mower for over 20 years and have never had it in the shop, very easy to maintain.
