Answer:
Gerry,
Normal water inlet from a metro source is 45 to 65 PSI. GPM is measured by the size of the inlet of your garden hose. Normal 5/8 is 6 GPM but with a 3/4 you can go to 8.

This unit gives you great power in Pressure and water flow. It was designed for tough cleaning tasks and washing buses is one of them. Be careful of the power so you don't strip off the paint or lettering if you get too close. I would use the 25 degree nozzle tips for the power washing. also I would absolutely use the soap function for the bugs and overall washing. Great Zep soap sold at the Home Depot. Read More

Answer:
Without a doubt, yes it will, however pre-soaking does make removing "implanted bugs" faster, depending upon the grill material, don't get to close, as plastic parts can be cut under this amount of pressure, and use either the green or white nozzle tip, using a smaller tip will increase pinpoint pressure increasingly much stronger..
Hope this helps...

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 97 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by NICE Product; No complaints. Quality is obvious. I added the picture to prove I actually bought and used the unit I am reviewing. I'm not convinced some of the negative reviews were from people who actually have the machine. #1 THE MOTOR: I tend to over research my purchases prior to buying. In doing so, I decided I wanted to go with a commercial quality Honda engine. Even as a do-it-yourselfer, this is tool I'm going to have for years, and might as well get something good, rather than having to upgrade later. So far this motor is starting on the first or second pull every time, and it pulls very easy. It is much nicer than my neighbor who has a washer with a residential Honda motor, the step up in quality of obvious. The warranty is good. #2 THE PUMP: After researching pumps, I wanted quality, with the idea this is a long term machine for a DIY'er. The pump on this device, with an oil reserve, is a commercial grade pump, with ceramic components and a great warranty. #3 OTHER FACTORS: I was ready to buy the model below this, but in the final comparison I decided I wanted a model with a 36" wand with a side handle to hold onto. I wanted a 50 foot hose. If you buy the next model down (which has the commercial motor and pump) by the time you buy a longer hose and wand, the cost is close enough that you might as well get the next model up and have these nice items, plus you get more power. The warranty on this machine is better than the residential units and impressive. I hope I don't need it. This is a rebadged Simpson unit sold by Dewalt and stocked in most Home Depot stores. You can order the Simpson version from Home Depot as well, but I can't see an advantage unless you like the color combination better. I like items that are stocked in store. If I get a lemon, I'm going to want a replacement right now... The price point is the same, if not better at Home Depot than buying a Simpson elsewhere. #4 POWER: This is the most powerful unit I have used. You need two hands on the wand when you pull the trigger. The motor is working hard, so it would seem you want to buy a machine powered by a reliable and lasting engine. Makes my electric look silly. So far so good with the projects I have put it to work with. With this much power, it takes a quarter of the time my prior electric 1800 PSI unit took, and has the power to do more than the electric is even capable of doing. Hopefully it will provide long term reliability. I don't think Dewalt would but its name on it or offer the warranty it comes with if it wasn't built to last. April 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comparison between the dewalt 3800 and 4200 I purchased this 3800 dewalt and loved it however I decided to upgrade to get the 13 horsepower engine that comes with the 4200 psi dewalt pressure washer that was 999.00. I paid 799.00 for this one. So I swapped it out for the upgraded version and it was nice. I didnt notice that much of a difference between the two. Took the 4200 to my first job and it was giving me issues. It was making this terrible squeaky noise over and over again intermittently. And then it wasnt working with I believe the pump. It wouldnt push out any power with the water. Im not sure if its a low quality pump or what. Or maybe just a defective unit. Not sure if I will even find out. My initial thought was to go swap it out but when I went back I saw my 3800 psi that I had returned and decided to buy it back again. My plans are to return the 4200 at this point. At some points we do have a slug here and there with the 3800 where it lags and doesnt push out as much pressure. Maybe they are lower quality pumps. Maybe there not. One pressure washing supply store online told me to make sure PRC isnt written on the pump. Peoples republic of China because its cheap and junk that wont last long. I didnt see that written on the 3800. Worse case scenario if my pump goes out I can just replace for a few hundred bucks and buy a nice one online. Its not hard to swap out anyways. Hope this reviews helps. Also if you buy these units heres a suggestion on a surface cleaner. We ended up liking the BE whirl away 20 inch better than the more expensive Whisper Wash Classic 19 inch 4 nozzle. I may need a more powerful pressure washer to see the whisper wash shine but for now buy the 330$ BE surface cleaner August 21, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by pressure washer so far so good had bad reviews on the pump it self so taking many percautions to keep it working effeciently so far so good July 29, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very poor after sales service The manufacturer (Sompson) has not fixed the tip holder. A known issue it still does hold the tips securely on the machine. Jeeze how hard would this be to do? I am torn as I got great service by some in the store and horrible from others. Less than 24 hours after getting this machine I had to leave it at their service center and believe it or not the demanded that I pay (in advance) $18 to have it checked out! Then added insult to injury by saying that I "may" get that refunded. July 17, 2016
