At first I thought there was an issue with the unit, it is shipped with the pressure down to the lowest level. Once I figured out I needed to turn the pressure back up, I was ready to go with more power than I needed. This is extremely powerful looks like it will take care of my needs. The Honda engine started right up first time out of the box. Very nice.

After 20 years of light use, my 3200 psi pressure gave it up. The new De Walt pressure washer has plenty of power and was easy to assemble. I went with the belt driven model in hopes of extending the life of the pump, which has been weak link in a pressure washer. I also purchased the garden hose inlet filter as additional insurance. Very pleased with the purchase. Would have given it five stars, but the instructions clearly state not to use chlorine bleach products as a cleaning agent, so I was unable to use my Jomax-bleach solution that is really needed for mold and mildew on the Texas Gulf coast. The ZEP pressure washer safe siding cleaner does not get the job done. When using an 18 foot telescoping wand, the pressure needed to remove mold and mildew without a bleach solution makes control unwieldy.

The problem with this dewalt pressure washer was the belt pulley off the engine slipped outward off the shaft

I had a Karcher 3500PSI Honda Engine for many years, constantly broke down (the pump). Finally decided to try this model. Did a lot of research. Warranty, price, PSI, and its from a company that should backup the product (both Dewalt and HD, yes I know its not made by Dewalt). Used the machine for about 15 hours continuously so far. Results, this is a powerful machine, and seems lightweight for the capacity. The wand uses the plug in's for pressure control width and intensity. Unfortunately, I do not see a valve to control water flow. There is a valve to control detergent flow. Frankly, for the price you aren't going to beat this one. The warranty seems good given that the pump units are prone to breakdown. Instructions were poor. Overall, I am so far pleased.

Bulletproof engine and belt drive to reduce the temperature and vibrations at the pump. But last years model had an external pressure relief system. This one is internal and that was a surprise to me. They also switched from a general pump to something else, and the general is known for its forgiveness in not scavenging the supply hose if the flow is inadequate.
Still, for the money, its the best belt drive out there. It also has no external incoming water filter, and that is something I find mandatory. Its only a few bucks to add so its not a deal breaker.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by goldenwings Decent washer, although a bit misleading/confusing
For two years the washer has worked well around the property (probably about 100 hours use). After receiving my unit, I was very interested in finding out what pump is actually on this unit. Good luck, Dewalt has at least 2, possibly 3 different pumps they use for this washer, and they wont be able to tell which manufacturer your pump is made by (even with serial and model numbers handy) nor any of the specs for water temps other than cold water (what is considered "cold"?).
I was also curious as to the belt driven aspect of this unit as normally since gas engines turn 3600RPM, the belt driven units are "geared down" to run the pump slower thus decreasing bearing wear and temperature and increasing its life. It would appear from the outside of the housing that this is the case due to the shape of the belt guard. However upon taking the guard off, this is a 1:1 drive with no reduction... that pump is spinning the same speed as the motor, personally I feel a bit cheated on this aspect. At this point the only advantage is that theres no direct heat transfer/vibration from the engine (which is not the biggest concern IMO). This does come at the disadvantage of lost efficiency due to the inherent nature of more moving pieces (the belts and pulleys)
Overall, it works well enough, but given the choice to do it again, I would go with a different brand machine with a CAT pump and one where the belt driven aspect serves a little more purpose.

Excellent washer has plenty of pressure to wash and can regulate pressure.

This unit really gets the job done. It's more compact than some other belt drive models that I looked at. I had some entrenched algae and mold on a wall where rain splashed up on it and this unit got into the stucco deep enough to get it out. The only improvements that I can think of would be to make the handle removable and make the wand holder such that it holds the wand up above the tire. It would also be nice if they offered a hose reel, as an accessory--a simple one that would just store the hose would suffice.
