One suggestion: Pull off the filter and slide a socket (from a socket set) onto the end of the tube and reinstall filter. This will weigh the tube down and make it sink to the bottom of your chemicals (use a 5 gallon bucket with pool chlorine and maybe a little laundry detergent for best results.) Read Less

I had this power washer for less than one week. After I got the pressure wash gauge and found out the pressure was 3200 PSI not 4200 psi I was concern.
After call the 800 number for service. They gave me a service center close to my home.
That was a waste of time. He told me to take it back to home depot. He had no pressure gauge to check the pressure. I was shocked. This is a repair center.
So I want to You Tube. I watched a few videos and found out what was wrong.
Number 1 the pump can be set at 10% + or - .
OK now put the gauge at the pump or at the spray gun. No difference in pressure.
Now change the tip the black yellow green and red tip all have difference. I was using a green tip that gave me 3200 PSI when I put in the red tip the pressure went to 3900 PSI. I then got another red tip from my old pressure and the pressure went to 4000 psi..
So the pressure washer working good. It was the tip size. Now if I wanted to get the full 4200 psi I would need to change the spring that controls the pump pressure or put a small washer the same diameter as the spring about 1 mm to raise the pressure up to the 4200 psi.
But it is running as advertised so I will leave it a lone.
As the old saying go's if you want the job done right do it yourself.

Answer:
WOW,,,, very unusual
And I believe it's 4200 psi your looking for not 4000
-- exactly where did you mount this gage
-- maybe the 4200 psi is mathematically measured right at the nozzle tip
and not on,, or near the pump, or the hose line
-- I'll assume your running the engine at full throttle (check this)
-- If still an issue,, I'd consult the manufacturer

Answer:
The engine oil takes standard motor oil 10W40. Check the Honda operator manual. When you change the pump oil you need the pump oil sold at the Home Depot. Be careful of the amount you put in not to overfill. Check the label on the top of the pump. It will tell you how much to put in. If you overfill you may blow out the oil seals in the pump over time.

You can use any oil designed specifically for pressure washers as these contain a rust inhibitor and an anit-foaming agent. If this oil is not available, an SAE 30W non-detergent oil may be used.

GOOD QUESTION,,,, I don't know
I know years ago there was a class action suit against engine manufactures
for over inflating there horsepower numbers..
I guess it's easy to boost the sticker number to a "higher number"
-- CID or cubic inch displacement is a fair start towards an estimation
-- Ask a lawn mower place and get there opinion ?
-- Due some research on the web ?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by High Pressure I was hesitant to get this due to the price, but WOW, if you want something cleaned, this will clean it. It comes with 5 different nozzles to control the spray, which is good because this machine can take the paint right off my boat! October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GAS CAP Unit started to SURGE,, or hunt in it's RPM. Thought it pointed to a governor problem . This problem occurred after only the second tank of gas,, very odd, to say the least, on a 3 hour old unit One will be surprised what the problem was,,,, ""The Gas Cap"" The gas cap is a two part pressed together unit that apparently has some type of filter and/or sound damping inside it (weird) .. Not sure what the purpose is to design a cap like this In any event, the cap "prevented" air from entering the tank,, meaning that the tank eventually became enough negative pressure (vacuum) to hold gas back from gravity feeding the carb Take the gas cap off, and the unit runs normally,, Put the cap snuggly back on and the unit will hunt / surge , and I'll assume stop due to lack of,, or no gas being fed to the carb Fixed it by drilling two .200 dia holes on the bottom side , near the outside edge without drilling through the top surface I Now assess that what's inside the cap is ground carbon, similar to a water filter (activated carbon) (it's in granular form) similar to sand, That prevents gas fumes from escaping to apparently make the unit as safe as possible Doing this vented the tank to atmosphere Although,,,, most of this granulated carbon has bounced around and vibrated itself down the center hole and into the tank itself. A very fine inside tank filter prevented this carbon sand from going into the gas line post the tank Will need to pull the tank off to rid the particles out ,,, and clean the gas cap out of all remaining particles,,,or buy a different type of cap that will fit Conclusion : Bad gas cap design Other wise this is a powerful, well built unit, and I don't care if some say it's heavy September 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Machine, Poor Handle I have no complaints about the power washer operationally speaking, but I did not give it a 5 rating because the handle was a full inch off from being able to attach it to the machine. We had to remove the metal between the two sides of the handle and muscle it on. This is not a cheap power washer and we should not have had this problem. September 20, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by High pressure, high quality This is a commercial grade machine that I used on a couple houses and that left my customers very happy for the new appearance of their homes after I pressure washed them, it has enough pressure to reach a second floor without using an extension wand or a ladder, I recommend this 4200 psi machine with great confidence.
