Cutting the plastic off with scissors is the easiest way to remove it.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by The packaging was a real pain to open. The plastic was extremely tough to cut open. The bits will not fit into the handle as advertised. The driver is unbalanced and not comfortable to hold. I do like the magnetized bits however. As a Dewalt product, I was extremely disappointed in it, since I am a confirmed Dewalt user. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool! I've owned plenty of cheap ratcheting drivers like this and was hesitant to buy this one but I am very satisfied. Totally redefined my expectations. My only complaint is the bit holders in the handle are a pain to use and don't hold all the bits securely. A couple of them fall out and rattle around almost as soon as you close it. The wall mountable bracket solves that, which is fine with me as I this tool doesn't really travel outside the garage. October 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NOT SO GOOD The blade shaft socket is poorly designed. There needs to be a locking mechanism so the blade shaft doesn't fall off unexspectedly. August 24, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by My Product Review It ok, but the pieces inside get loose from time to time and sometimes it won't work well when changing the direction for the screwer. July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Like the driver, dislike the bit holder The screwdriver itself works great. Have something else though to carry your bits because every time you open the holder they will fly everywhere. July 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dewalt Ratchet Screwdriver Don't waste your money! I bought this to make it easy to do work around the house. It failed immediately after opening. Pieces everywhere and they are hard to fit into the hide away end on the bottom. After inserting a tip into the rod the rod refused to stay locked in. Terrible design. Stay away from this one. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by nice idea, poorly made tool I've lost my faith in the Yellow brand for the last couple years of their downgraded quality tools and been getting all tools from the red brand. But I took the chance again when I saw this thinking maybe they have changed, I was hoping this one could be as good as the one I have from the red brand. And there goes again , another disappointment...Lets start, the driver bit shaft comes out of the handle too easily, but I found out the problem was the dark ring in the handle that does the holding is badly designed, once you remove the shaft and put it back again you need to push the ring back in the place...the bits in the handle storage just don't stay where they should, once you slide the chamber back in the handle all the bits come lose and rattle inside the chamber, and when you open it again they just fall everywhere... I just kept mine because I really like the design and the ratchet. I have a similar ratcheting screwdriver from the red brand that's flawless. I'll never get anything from the yellow brand again. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible, returned I bought this tool specifically for the storage in the handle. That's the part of the tool that doesn't work. The bits simply don't fit into the holes in the handle storage, no matter how hard you press them into it. Really disappointing because I liked the weight and feel of the screwdriver itself.
