Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tough Utility Knife I got this on Black Friday for $12.97 which included the Dewalt DWHT11004 75-pk heavy duty blades which by itself cost $14.97. The knife feels sturdy and very comfortable, way better than the cheap ones I had always bought. I just got tired of the cheap stuff, so went for this one. This combo was hard to pass up. The only thing that made me upset was that it had no instructions on how to dispense the blades, which is why I did not give it a 5 stars. I searched the internet but nothing. I finally went to the first place I should've gone to, DEWALT.COM and under FAQ's for the DWHT11004 I found the answer which is: The DWHT11004 is made to dispense blades and as a safety container to store old used blades. Looking at the DWHT11004 the yellow part on the bottom pulls out to dispense a blade (one at a time). The top right corner is where you will put the blade that need to be thrown away. Once you have used all the blades the entire container can be thrown away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best knifes , I've ever bought! I purchase this knife not too long ago , and i have to say , i am amazed by how this product turned out . it fits perfeclty to my hand , the blades are super strong , easy to use , it was a fast install for me , the blade storage is nice ( the blades don't rattle inside ) , it has fell out of my pouch a few times while i was working on a roof with concrete floor under and didn't get damaged at all. This is a great knife overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality knife This knife and blade pack is a great deal. I had zero problems opening and operating the knife or blade pack. I'm not sure why people have problems with it. Knife is very sturdy. Hopefully it will last longer than the husky knife I bought. Then again you get what you pay for. Good job on this one dewalt!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice durable knife Nice beefy durable utility knife for the price, and having a 75-pack of blades eliminates that scrounging you inevitably do in the middle of a project. That said, I have a bone to pick with DeWalt-- have you folks never heard of instructions? It's a little piece of paper with a picture or two, along with some text, that helps the consumer figure out how to use a product. It's all the rage. When the knife and blades arrived, I opened up the package, and immediately was stymied by how to load a blade into the end the knife-- no joke. Adding a few spares in the handle was easy enough to figure out, but I literally had to go online to discussion forums, where I found a host of people with the same problem. Luckily, someone posted the procedure-- push the button all the way forward, and insert the blade until it locks in place. The same was true of the 75-pack of blades. Again, I found a photo posted online, that shows the bottom carriage of the pack swings out, dispensing one blade at a time. All this hassle could be avoided if DeWalt would just include a few pics & some instructions. Overall, this DeWalt Utility knife is a breeze to use, and a knife package I would recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective by design? The button to install/release the blade seemed to be defective. It had almost no travel and no matter how hard I wrestled with it I couldn't get a blade to snap into place. Any utility knife design that requires fighting with an oiled blade need more consideration. I had to return it after finally giving up. I looked at the other ones still on the rack and they all seemed to have no travel in the release button. So either a bad batch or there was something wrong with this design. I got a basic cheap utility knife with the screw on the side like normal. I think DeWalt tried to get too fancy with this thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very heavy duty knife This is the best utility knife I've ever used. The long handle with the slight bend gives it really good ergonomics so you can apply a lot of force very easily. You don't have to bend your wrist/arm up to apply the blade to something - its a much more natural hand position. The blades are good and strong and of course sharp. The blade changing system is very quick and easy. You just push in the little black button, insert the blade, and release the button to lock it in. Press the button and pull the blade to remove it. The handle has a nice little compartment for holding a few spare blades. There is also a slot near the end that goes down to the blade allowing you to insert a rope/cord and cut it without pushing the blade out - very convenient and safe. I've use it on light jobs like cutting up cardboard boxes and heavier jobs like cutting drywall. If you need something for heavy duty jobs, this is definitely the knife.
