I removed one of these couplings to replace a much longer section of hose, and did so by snipping off the old hose with about an inch sticking out from each side of the coupling. I then had to apply fairly significant force with a pair of needle nose pliers to yank the remaining small pieces out from each end. I know that it may be dumb question, but does the manufacturer recommend re-using these fittings? Or has anyone out there successfully re-used one of these with no resultant leaks?

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A rain Drip no no While digging in my garden I accidentally cut one of my drip lines. I did not have any connectors on hand. A quick trip to Home Depot and picked up a few of these, one for repair and others to have on hand. Apparently not all 1/2" drip lines are the same diameter. My drip lines are 1/2" raindrip. The DIG fitting blew off when the water was turned on. This means another trip to the store. I'm sure that the fittings work fine on the DIG 1/2" line. I'm surprised that they are different sizes.
