Customer Questions & Answers

Why would someone use this cap instead of folding the end of the tube? Is there some advantage to the cap, aside from it looking pretty?

Asked by: TubularQuestion
Please update the one I have written yesterday: The swivel cap is one of many options that allows for an easy flushing of your drip system when the system is on, by removing the threaded cap. It also allows for easy addition of a section to your drip system using a 3/4" swivel adapter with female Hose thread.

What is the pressure rating for a 1/2 inch compression connector? I would like to use them on regular irrigation water

Asked by: Nate
The average pressure we have at home can range from 50 to 130 PSI, with higher the pressure, more water is used when our faucet is turned on. In many home a pressure regulator is instilled to lower the operating pressure to a range of 50 to 70 PSI. Drip irrigation is designed to operate at low pressure of 15 to 30 PSI so, all drip fittings, drip line, drip emitters, and micro sprinklers should operate at this range without any problem. It is highly recommended not to use drip fittings for a regular irrigation system

It doesn't work on Rainbird 1/2" irrigation tubing, keeps leaking on one end and it laterally flew out on the other end. Probably only work on DIG tubing, like the other reviewers said. Going to return them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Appears to work on DIG pipe only. Why can't the manufacturers get together and standardize these parts/hose? Works OK on DIG brand pipe but anything a micrometer different, forget it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy to use i wasn't sure exactly what i was going to get it is described as a compression fitting but it is more like a quick connect. you simply shove the end of the hose in and it locks the hose in securely it does take a good deal of force but not awful. I have several of these in use for about a month now with no leaks or complaints.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It works but.. It works fine but if you fold over the last two inches and secure with a ten cent zip tie works also.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from End fittings do not work with 1/2 tube; Leak terribly: Appear suited for 5/8 hose? Stay with Rain Drip products, they are watertight! These fittings and 1/2 tubing advertised here do not fit! The "compression" fit is a joke, easily sliding on and off the 1/2 tubing with little effort. I ordered 2 500' rolls of 1/2 tubing and these fittings, and every single one of them had water spraying out in gross amounts when I turned the water on, flooding the garden where I did not want water. No savings here!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product with some limitations Overall, this is a good product. No leaks at the junction. The only problem is that it is basically a single use product. If you need to redo the connection, you have to cut it off and use a new one. In addition, you need to put significant force to fit in tubing which may not be convenient for everyone.Perma-lock connections are much better in these respects as they are reusable and easier to fit.
