Customer Questions & Answers

Will the tubing crush flat when buried?

Anyone have any problems with this tubing crushing flat and eventually pinching off flow when buried 12" deep? My soil has high clay content which means swelling in the wet season and cracking in the dry season. Alternative would be running PEX or PVC.
Asked by: JimzPlace
no! bury 1" to 3" deep!

I have a 40 gal. polyethylene kerosene tank. Is the tubing rated to hold kerosone as well?

Asked by: Dsharp
Don't believe it is rated. Being a retired fireman i would only recommend Petroleum grade tubing.

Can this plastic tubing be used for fuel lines in gas weed trimmers?

Asked by: Painter
I don't know, but if it helps it comes in a polyethylene version and a vinyl version both available online. I wouldn't use it for a fuel line, but then again I'm cheap, not crazy.

Exactly like the high priced brand, except it may be a little more delicious. At least the animals who chewed through quite a bit this fall thought so. But seriously there is no difference except for the price. (The animals chewed through another brand as well. No doubt they were thirsty and looking for water.)

Was connecting a coffee maker and having a lot of trouble with the standard white hosing. For some reason the normal white hosing was not round. If it is not round it will not seal properly in 1/4" fittings. I went back to see if I could figure out a solution to the white tubing and ran across this material. Fits in 1/4" fittings and it is round. Worked great for the coffee maker and the fridge. an Added plus is it is rated for higher pressure than the white poly tubing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and works nicely Product is easy to use and gets the job done. I have an 800 square foot veggie garden that was getting tedious to water, and this part of the setup made it easy. I did find that it is a bit tough to get the hose pushed onto the barbs on the emitters and other connectors. I have a tip to make that easier, however. I boiled some water in a teapot (microwaving a coffee mug of water to near-boiling would work as well) and took it out to the garden with me. Whenever I needed to connect a fitting, I dipped the last 1/2" of the hose into the water for 4 or 5 seconds to soften it up. Don't do more than a half inch or so or the hose will be too bendy and won't go on. That little bit of softening makes it slip right over the fitting, and when it cools it firms right back up to a good tight fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tubing This tubing was used to run irrigation from main zone to individual plants. It worked great and was easy to install. Used a coupler on one end and an emitter on the other. I've had good luck with DIG products.
