Customer Questions & Answers

Will the tubing crush flat when buried?

Anyone have any problems with this tubing crushing flat and eventually pinching off flow when buried 12" deep? My soil has high clay content which means swelling in the wet season and cracking in the dry season. Alternative would be running PEX or PVC.
Asked by: JimzPlace
No, it will not crush. I have done work with this tubing(Maybe different brand, but basically identical, if not made by same company, sold by different companies. We have driven over it, while 3-6"s underground. We have a John Deere X585 lawn tractor(With the tiller on the rear & the "bucket" on the front & the mower deck underneath.). Plus a full crew cab truck, with a race car trailer hooked to the back of it, with a race car and many other things in it, that we ran over it with, as well and it still did not collapse. So, odds are, you have no worry to bury it & just let it go. Should have no problems, at all. Well, unless you deal with rodent's.(LOL)

Can this system be hidden under pine straw & still be effective?

Asked by: 88c
To easily answer your question, since I have plenty of experience with it. Yes you may hide it under pine straw, hay, straw, mulch and even a light layer of dirt and it will work just fine!

I have a 40 gal. polyethylene kerosene tank. Is the tubing rated to hold kerosone as well?

Asked by: Dsharp
I can answer this, very easily(I am a professional engine specialist.). The answer is no! The Kerosene will literally "eat" right through the plastic. There are specially made lines, just for the "alcohol", that is in fuels(Like Gasoline, Kerosene, Diesel, etc.), so it does not turn the "plastics/rubbers", that they make the fuel lines out of, to a "melted" plastic/rubber.

Can this plastic tubing be used for fuel lines in gas weed trimmers?

Asked by: Painter
Ok, I am a professional engine specialist, for small and full racing engines. To be blunt, your answer will be NO! Go to your local store, where you would buy trimmers, chainsaws, weed eaters and etc. If they don't have it, they can guide you to a local store, or you can just head to your local NAPA, AutoZone, or any other auto parts place, they should have it. BUT, I will suggest taking the old line with you, so they can match it up, to the new line and I would suggest getting roughly 2-3 times as much(It is actually fairly cheap. About a yard of it, would cost roughly $3.00-4.00. Depending on where you get it from, as well.), so you have some spare, in-case you make a mistake or you can keep it for when the new line wears out. There are several different sizes of fuel line, specially made, to be able to handle the alcohol(Fuel) in the fuel tanks. Best to get a Ziploc bag and put the unused in that and place it in a cool, dry & dark place(Like in a garage on a shelf, where the sun usually doesn't hit it.). So it stays clean and out of direct sunlight. So it keeps from hardening up, as well.

I did forget, the "recoil" of the line is strong. So, may want to run it under hot water, before you use it, to "reset" the memory in it, when it cools and lays a bit flatter on the ground. The length IS 100'. So, if you have a medium to large backyard and need it to go to different places there. You may need more then the 100', especially if you are using the 1/4" to reach each place. It will run-out quickly! I had to order another 200'. So I could have some left-over, as well. This way, I had some extra, just in-case I need to do some patch work later!

Was connecting a coffee maker and having a lot of trouble with the standard white hosing. For some reason the normal white hosing was not round. If it is not round it will not seal properly in 1/4" fittings. I went back to see if I could figure out a solution to the white tubing and ran across this material. Fits in 1/4" fittings and it is round. Worked great for the coffee maker and the fridge. an Added plus is it is rated for higher pressure than the white poly tubing.

Met my expectations, but sad most of the irrigation parts are never stocked in the store-must be ordered online. In fact, even sadder, if the item is offered online at a cheaper price than in the store, the store clerk told me they would not honor the online price at the store. Whatttttt? Lowes does, Walmart does, so why not Home Depot. Get your act together HD!

We have a very large property and recently took out 2/3 of our grass and replaced it with trees and shrubs - using a lot of this product. In other areas, we have used this product for many years. It holds up well and we've had NO issues with freezing or breaking.
