Mostly I have used the poly micro tubing. Lately I have seen this vinyl tubing in the stores. At first I thought tubing is tubing so I bought some of it. Not so. While the vinyl tubing may be more flexible when it is new, it becomes hard and stiff after a couple years in the sun. I have had the emitters pop off the vinyl tubing, but never the poly tubing. When my emitters plug up I just cut it off a quarter inch from the end of the tubing and put a new one back on. This is very difficult with the vinyl because it becomes so stiff with age. The poly stays supple and is no problem to insert a new emitter after many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great Essential for constructing a drip distribution system. I have a dozen 4x10 foot garden boxes, and I run 0.700 line to each box, then use this 1/4-inch line to get water to each plant, using the various 1/4-inch connectors. 1. Note this tubing is available in vinyl and polyethylene. The prices are similar. 2. The vinyl is -much- more flexible and easy to work with, both during assembly and if you need to move the lines around. This is especially true in the spring, when temps are lower. 3. But I have heard polyethylene is the choice for large-scale systems. It holds its shape, and I think it may be more durable (neither is an issue to me).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Grumpy If you want to save a little money, and have the time to do the job twice, this is the product for you. It's CHEAP and it's Cheap. You will have to order twice as many drippers as you need, because you will need to replace the ones that don't work. You will also need to order twice as many 1/4 in. Elbows, and T's as you need because they break. The 1/4 in. Feeder line is ridged and hard to work with, but if you have lots of time it will work. The 1/4 in. Barbed fittings, to attach to the 1/2 in. Main line leak, and are hard to work with. In my opinion after fighting with DIG drip irrigation products all summer, I wish I had paid a little more up front, and started with a better product, and only had to do it once.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stuff The feed off 1/2" tubing on auto water system that feed plants works great I just set timer and only have to press rain delay when needed and watering is all automatic, and the amount of water is all set.
