Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Corey Warning - does not fit 1/2" hose purchased at my local Home Depot store
The 1/2" hose I purchased at my local Home Depot store goes right on through this adapter. The very nice man in the department explained that Home Depot switched brands and this does fit the new brand, but I must go to their competitor to get what I really need. :(

The compression washer is so weak, I can't use this with a garden hose. Don't waste your time.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Kiwihomegirl I'm sure it's a great product ... but
I will be returning it due to the fact that it didn't fit the 1/2" poly tubing I bought. Apparently this product only works with other DIG components.

If you end up buying the wrong one all you need is another water seal to go beneath the one in the hose thread for a tight fit. If water is spraying out, take the rubber water seal out then put in another water seal and put the original water seal above that one. Screw it on and no more water leaks

DIY .700 1/2" poly tubing and this part do not have a tight fit! It is not a compression fitting. There is no fitting, just shove the tubing into the adapter, and it is supposed to be a tight fit? This is my second attempt at adapter brands (Orbit was impossible to install); first was at Lowe's. Why/how do other reviews say it was a tight fit? It's a pretty simple construction, and matching tubing size is the only factor. anyone with suggestions?

Make sure the hose is round, and not oval...mold it in your hands if needed. Makes for a better fit. Can't have the pressure too high either.

I did the same thing as Evrgreen. I grabbed the grey and charcoal (or black) and it would not screw on tightly. Half the water went on the ground and not to the sprinkler heads. Spent 30 minutes in HD trying to figure out a way to get this to work with other stuff when I discovered that there was an all Charcoal one. There is a very slight difference between the two and you would only see that if you had both in your hands

Wow, I can't believe I did the exact thing every review has stated, should have looked at reviews first. I just grabbed one out of the box at Home Depot and didn't realize that the grey-ish threads were tighter than black version(garden hose threads). I was wondering why there was no pressure, but issue solved.
