Answer:
I guess some food sticks or other slow release stuff on input side of screen. If it fits. They sell sole use feeders for different systems. I have seen a drip system feed unit but i don;t know where. or when.

In online photos, it shows an inline setup with spigot to backflow preventer, to this filter, to pressure reducer, to connector (hose thread to 1/2" compression). This means that this filter will take full spigot pressure, since the pressure reducer is shown AFTER the filter. Customer review indicates that the pressure must be reduced to 25psi BEFORE it hits this filter. Please explain the operating pressure of this unit.

Answer:
The correct installation is to have the filter before the regulator. That's what you get with a filter+regulator combo. It might not be a good idea to put the filter after the regulator because I think the flow restriction would be greater.

Answer:
I don't Know, if you use coarser screen drip system will plug fast. If screen plugs alot try a settling tank or add a larger primary filtering system. A cyclonic one is used for high flow wells as an example.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ok not great Install was easy, but leaked at first, had to tighten everything a couple times to stop leaking August 23, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not the best quality The filter leaked around the filter fitting. I called the manufacturer and they advised it is not made to hold constant pressure. It should be mounted after the timer. This information is not listed anywhere. I returned the first unit and purchased a second unit. Then mounted it after the timer. My neighbor also had a leaker as he had also mounted it before the timer. Poor product. No installation information. July 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Installed easy. Did not leak. I was replacing one I got from Lowes, because it leacked heavily. This one went on easy, and has not leaked. September 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hose Thread Screen Filter maybe only if the threads were made of a harder plastic as not to cross thread. September 16, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by HORRIBLE!!!!! BUYER BEWARE!! Let me say----this is the first review I wrote-----DO .....NOT....BUY THIS!!! I spent 2 hours digging up, cutting, gluing fittings, waiting 24 hours for glue to dry....and testing-----only to find pressure is still the EXACT same as prior. This pressure regulator is absolute GARBAGE! June 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good value, functional filter First of all, there are a couple of reviews here where this product leaked, or came apart when turning on the water.. While I can't say for sure, perhaps those folks didn't have a clear picture of what this filter is for and it's limitations. This is a filter, NOT a pressure regulator. There are other products which are pressure regulators that look very similar to this one, however this unit is not. It is only a filter. It is intended for low pressure drip irrigation systems that run 25 psi or less. If you are attaching this to utility water, or other pressurized water line, check the pressure first and if it's above 25psi, install a regulator to lower that pressure to 25 psi or less before installing this product. I installed this on my rainwater collection system and use it to filter that water for my drip irrigation system. Works great to keep the emitters clog free. Easy maintenance of the filter. I don't need a pressure regulator because the rainwater system is less that 25 psi. June 29, 2015
