what is the solar output voltage?

Customer Reviews

Solar Powered Irrigation Timer with Anti-Siphon Valve is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk, quality control issues When I saw 8 out of 12 units on the shelf were returns that should have been a warning. 1st unit I charge 8 hours in 90 degree CA sun, and nothing DOA out of the box. Exchange for unit 2, charge works so I install it. Turn water on and unit will not shut off. Exchange for 3 unit. This time everything works for 3 days then at 2am the water turns on by itself. I shut off valve to sprinklers, next morning turn back on and unit still is on. I program everything to off, bleed system, took unit apart looked for debris...nothing but Another faulty unit. Took 3rd unit back went to Osh bought Toro battery unit and works like a champ.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So far it's not working too well. I purchased this unit and it worked great for about a week. The solar charger stopped working and unfortunately the unit got stuck in the "on" position and flooded our garden before we noticed. I called the tech support number and they sent out a new unit that supposedly had a new solar panel. I was told the previous units had defective solar chargers and that this new unit was fixed. The new unit worked for a couple of weeks and then died as well. They are sending out a new unit to me today and I've been assured that this time the problems have been fixed. We'll see...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great option to regular hard wired valves---What I was looking for No need to run wires from a panel, no digging a trench to run wires in, you don't have to remember which colored wire services which valve. Replace your valves with this when your old ones burn out. The only drawback is the color, they only come in black. The hot Arizona sun really heats them up and white would reduce that problem. I'm surprised that DIG hasn't considered this since they are based in Cali.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUNK! Just installed one in my backyard and not only does it leak, but it wont shut off the water. DO NOT BUY!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from On my 3rd one, still leaks First one, factory welded seam was leaking, second one, solar timer was wired to turn off instead of on. Third one leaks around the valve like it needs a new gasket. I don't trust it. I will probably try the solar timer on a rain bird or Toro valve.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 2 bought and 1 replaced twice I have one valve that has been working great. The other one, the solar /actuator died and nothing appears on the panel. I replaced it and now the second one is doing the same thing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bad batch, otherwise pretty cool For those with dead ones, look at the sticker under the programming unit and see if it says SW 1.43. If so, its from a bad batch (from China? no, really?). The good news is DIG Corp stands behind their product 100%, so call them in Vista CA, talk to Felipe or Stuart in Tech Support, tell them what you have and mail it back to them, and they will send you a new one. Bad news for my plants that have suffered and died though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! I have four of these installed so far and there will be more! The first has been performing flawlessly for almost three years now. Its not the cheapest valve on the shelf, but if you are looking for an alternative to the traditional wired control this is good choice. Simple, clean installation. Put it anywhere. No wiring hassle. I've placed all of mine below grade by cutting a small round hole in the lid of an irrigation box and mounting the control head on top.
