My mother recently had to move in with us because of an illness. She was having problems stepping into the shower since we have a tub/shower combination. The risk of her falling, even with me helping her, was too great. We were even considering buying a new shower, but the cost would of been too much. I found this item on Home Depot's website and thought it was going to be good for her. Since I bought this she has the safety and comfort needed for her to stay a little more independent. She sits down outside of the tub and I can push her in with her lifting her leg one at a time. Very smooth movements so when she will no longer be able to lift her legs, I can lift her legs and slide the seat easily. She can lean back and not worry about falling backwards. Her old one just was a stationary and no back to keep her in place. The only thing is that two of the legs are outside of the shower so anything other than shower curtains will not work. The shipment to our home was an added convenience. I recommend this product and to purchase from Home Depot.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mimidianne Sturdy and easy to use
This shower chair is well built and has a sliding seat which makes it possible for my husband who has difficulty with coordination to use the shower. It was easy to assemble and breaks down to a small package when needed. It has a strap which keeps him secure in the chair when sliding and bathing. It has really improved quality of life!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MrBill2005 A little difficult in assembly
The directions were not as informative as one would like. Had to bolt and unbolt many times before was able to get it together properly. Overall once seat is complete, it is a very stable platform. Just take your time and try to think a few steps ahead with every step.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by limbolen Useful for people with arthritic knees
The bench was easy to assemble. Its light weight makes it very easy to move around. The only drawback is that the adjustable legs do not allow for easy use with older bathtubs. I had to reduce the length of the legs by 2 inches to make it usable for my short mother. Otherwise, It makes taking a shower much more convenient and pain free for a 92 year old with severely arthritic knees.

THIS BENCH WOULD BE OUTSTANDING IF THE SLIDE BAR WAS ABOUT 6 INCHES LONGER. THE SEAT NEEDS TO EXTEND A FEW INCHES OUTSIDE OF THE SHOWER. SIX MORE INCHES OF SLIDE BAR WOULD TOP IT OFF

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by fishlady The best transfer seat
This seat is easy for handicap bathtub transfers. The person doesn't have to slide themselves over the tub. The seat does the sliding. This seat is great for those who can't move too easily.

The chair arrived and was very easy to assemble. We have used it for awhile now for my mom, her and her caretaker love it, it makes showering so much easier for both of them. We are very happy with this buy.

The great reviews are real! I purchased this for my mother and she couldn't be happier. It is VERY easy to assemble (less than 10 minutes and requires no tools), it's light weight, so it can moved with ease and most importantly it is comfortable for my mother. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend to anyone who has difficulty with mobility.
