I'd gone back and forth about deciding whether to have my contractor create a niche in my new tile shower, or install shelves... I decided to go with the shelves to save time and labor costs. I was able to pick these up from my local HD store, and the finished result is perfect! The color and "rustic" finish of these blend well with the tile. Also, they're huge, and can hold at least three large bottles of shampoo/conditioner/body wash, etc. The price was right, so I purchased a few.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Greg Nice shelf, but a little on the heavy side
This shelf goes great with the Sandy Beach tile. Very easy to install but you do have to tape it in place while it dries as it is VERY HEAVY! Overall very pleased with this product.

I am a Home Depot tile installer and have used these corner shelves as well as the soap dish, there is no finish to flake off that would be a mineral in your water. they are a composite resin and never break down. you can grout in the textured surface for a color match or not. I rarely use the cut in system instead I cut the blocks off the back using a wet saw so it is smooth, then use loctite brand epoxy 1 min set time and 3 dime size globs of hot glue on each corner, this holds the shelf effortlessly while the epoxy sets up. before countering this method I have literally tested loctite with 350Lbs on 1 shelf, I have done this over 100 times and in 12 years never had a repair. tech answer; 1 premix epoxy kit will do 2 corner shelves, place tape below the placement of the shelf to stop any potential runs also to make fast alignment.

My contractor said to seal them with a clear sealant prior to installing to make sure they stayed nice over time. So far they have and still look great a year after installation.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JulieC Does not perform well over time
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I installed Daltile's resin corner shelves in my shower a few years ago, and they have been awful. They turned green from mildew and the finish flecked off when we cleaned them. No other problems in our shower with items that are ceramic. I believe the issue is the fact that these are resin. I notice the same problem with every resin item I purchase for outdoor use (garden decor, lightweight planters)--they look nice initially, but resin does not hold up well to the elements.
I am now shopping for replacement shelves and a soap dish since these have all been ruined.

Home Depot ,please label this product correctly as it is NOT ceramic, it is a poly resin blend.most people would not choose a resin product for long term exposure to moisture in the shower due to discoloration and staining.

i'm not sure if Julie is reviewing the correct product. this item clearly states it is ceramic, but Julie says the resin product does not hold up well. I have to go with the other reviewers and say this a quality product. I would not even try to use a resin soap dish in my tub/shower area.

After my remodeling guy "forgot" to build the nooks in my shower for shampoo and the likes, I found these online and they were in stock locally. I was expecting light weight flimsy shelves. Instead I was happy to see the heavy, quality ceramic corner pieces. Great quality and it fit right in with my new tiled shower stall.
