Customer Questions & Answers

Please double check the specs before answering questions!

There are obvious mistakes in the HD website specifications chart. Dal Tile, please use a manager and go to the real spec sheet before answering questions in a way that reinforces the misinformation. We DIYers are not idiots. Example 1: This tile is 6mm thick, not 13 mm thick. How do I know? The same tile in other colors is 6 mm thick. Does it make sense that the black and white is 13 mm and the white and white is 6 mm thick? No, it doesn't. Please confirm that the tile is 6 mm thick, not 13 mm as stated in the HD spec chart. Example 2: This tile is suitable for bathroom floors. The PEI rating is IV which makes it suitable for heavy traffic. Further the relatively high density of grout lines adds skid resistence. Indeed, it is a classic for bathrooms floors, and a bathroom floor is its primary application. Please confirm that the PEI rating is IV and that it is suitable for bathrooms floors. Then correct the website and delete the answers from Dal Tile which simply repeated the incorrect data from the old spec sheet. Should take 10 minutes. Finally an actual question: are these tiles porcelain? It says they are ceramic, and porcelain is a type ceramic. Are they porcelain ceramic?
Asked by: DIYer
Great suggestion! I just got off the phone with Daltile support, and they confirmed that this tile is approved for bathroom floor use, but not shower floor use.

Is this suitable for a bothroom floor?

I'd like to use this on my bathroom flloor. The slip-resistance coefficient is ok. What' s the difference between a 'wall tile' and a 'floor tile?'
Asked by: Selma
No, this tile is not rated for use on the floor.

We are renovating a 1939 cottage style home and used this tile in the kitchen/dining room area which is open to each other with one continual sight line. We also used this tile in the laundry room. We chose to use charcoal (basically black) grout and it just makes the floor pop! So pretty and a great alternative to more pricey black and white tile options for that authentic/vintage look.

We loved that the tile was on 12"x12" sheets, which makes installation so much easier than with individual tiles. Do pay attention to the black squares though, because sometimes they are attached at an angle and need to be cut out and placed individually.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Vintage Look These were very easy to install & look great in our bathroom. Timeless style. I love that the black tiles are shiny & the white ones are matte. We had dark tiles prior & I was worried these would always look dirty but they look great. We used dark grey grout instead of the traditional white & the tile pattern really pops! I would use them again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ok, but..... Recently renovated a bathroom in my 75 year old house and used this tile mosaic (with black grout) to keep with the age/style of the house. For the most part I am pleased with how it turned out (mostly because of the affordable price; however, there were SEVERAL (as in every sheet) that had individual tiles that did not line up due to the placement of the glue on the back of the sheet, resulting in very uneven grout lines. We tried to cut the glue on some of the sheets and line it up better....not a big deal but very tedious. Overall, it looks ok from a distance but up close it's obvious that the tiles are crooked. Be aware of this if you purchase this product....if you are super detail oriented, this product may not be for you.
