Questions & Answers

Can you lay this on top of cement? Outside? If so what mortar and etc will I need.

We are planning on doing our patio that is 13 ft X 15 ft. Currently we have a concrete slab that has some cracks in it.
Asked by: John
Yes, just use standard grout, I added cement binder to the mix to be sure I got a good bond

How do I buy the bullnose and corner bullnose tiles in this style ?

Thank you for your answer to my last question...The special order clerk at my Home Depot store could not find these tiles in her computer, and said that they are not available. According the Daltile website they do make the corner bullnose and bullnose trim pieces, and as you indicated they don't make a quarter round. Now what do I do ? Is there a SKU number that I should take to the store or a part number ? Don't you all have the same computer database ? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you, Buzzard
Asked by: Buzzard
If you go to the store, the store can special order it for you. The model#: 0T05 Q1665U1P is for the 6x6 bullnose; the corner bullnose which is curved one both sides is model#: 0T05 QCRL1665U1P. For both model#’s they would use sku# 200068. Hopefully this helps.

How do I buy the trim pieces ( bull nose, corner bull nose, quarter round, etc.) for this tile ?

So,you sell the tile, Quarry Adobbe Brown 6x6, but you don't seem to sell the appropriate trim pieces. Are these available by special order ? If so will you tell me how to do that ? Thank you, Harry
Asked by: Buzzard
This product is available in a bullnose and a bullnose corner. The Quarry Adobbe Brown tile does not have a matching quarter round. The available product (bullnose and bullnose corner) are available via special order at your local Home Depot.

Quarry Adobe Brown 6 in. x 6 in. Ceramic Floor and Wall Tile (11 sq. ft. / case) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use tiles in my oven to make homemade pizza! PREP for oven use: When I first got these quarry stones, I soaked 9 tiles in water over night in a clean bucket. I then wiped off excess water, put in oven then turn on and set to 200 degrees for 15 minutes, turned off oven and let them stay in there for about 1 hour or until cool and dry. I then coated each with very THIN layer of Canola oil with soft cloth. Take another clean cloth to ensure you have removed excess oil...placed in oven, turned on and set to 425 degrees for 1 hour...turn oven off and let them stay in oven for about 2 hours or until cool. Then they are seasoned and ready to use! I leave mine in the oven at all times near bottom rack and when making bread or pizza, I move the tiled rack to 2nd to top rack. Easy and works excellent. I even have plenty left in case one breaks. My pizza has never tasted so good! I highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Baking Stone Success! After my expensive pizza stone split into several pieces from a sauce spill on the hot stone, I realized that I did not want to spend so much money on an item that can break suddenly and easily. A case of these quarry tiles solved the issue! Not only are they just as effective as my old stone, but set up in a 3x3 block in my oven they give me more area to work with, and I'm not worried about breakage! Sure, I'm sure they will crack eventually too, but for less than half the price of most baking stones, I have back-up stones stacked in a closet to last me a lifetime. Their smaller size makes them ideal for using on the grill, too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pizza Stone Works as a baking stone for pizzas and bread, much cheaper than buying a pizza stone. I have found a good number of broken tiles in the box, but that happens with purchasing tile. 6 tiles fit in my oven in a 2x3 arrangement; if I wanted to cut to cover the whole oven rack, I could fit more, but 12x18 is fine for what I am baking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've got a Pizza Oven!! I've lined them up in my propane BBQ and have been cooking pizzas on those stones for a while. Perfect for what I was looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good tiles for some purposes I bought these tiles to use in my gas grill. I cover about half the surface with the tiles; grill on the open side for a few minutes till food is nicely browned, then shift it to the tiles to cook till done. Avoids a lot of burning of fat, etc. These tiles will last for a year or two; after a while they get brittle and crack. but they only cost about 50 cents a piece, so it's not really a problem. A box like this will last a lifetime.
