Deicer Bricks (6-Pack) is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love decider bricks they provide weeks of protection from ice dams most other products dissolve in days. The bricks would be even better if they were marked and shipped as fragile. They arrived chipped and will not last as long as if unhip per.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Deicer Bricks As in previous reviews, I did receive a few of the bricks broken and pieces floating inside the box. That was okay, I just through the pieces on the roof as well. But what I did notice after a recent snowfall of about 4 inches of somewhat light snow, that the bricks remain covered with snow for several days after the snow had fallen. Also noticed the ice building up at the bottom of the roofline again like last year. I placed them according to the directions, but appears like they are not working. Will have to wait and see a little while longer and check to see if I have further ice buildup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and inxpensive solution that works great I have rental properties in New Jersey and use this on my flat roof properties to prevent the drains and downspouts from freezing. When the downspouts freeze the roof fills with water causing leaks in the building which historically caused us a lot of money in interior repairs. With these applied in december each year, the drain lines stay clear all winter and we don't have leaking or damage. This is a simple and inexpensive solution that I am glad I found out about.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from broken bricks Bricks were poorly shipped half were broken They will still work in pieces , but they don't last as long as they should.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as good as it sounds One brick already dissolved, the others are not very effective. Still have an ice dam and expect water in the house on the problem area of my roof. Sounded like a good idea, but didn't work well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Somewhat disappointing the blocks worked well at melting snow/ice around them but they dissolved rather quickly and were gone in about three weeks after several snow falls and some freezing rain. Tossing calcium chloride pellet on the roof every couple of days was just as good and is much cheaper.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Warning if rain I put these up in late December here in northern Massachusetts. We get mostly snow this time of year, but also get some rain. We had 1 rain storm last week and the bricks are now half gone and no snow has fallen yet. They are high up on a 2nd story where it's hard to remove snow for ice dams, but if they melt that fast with rain, they will be most likely useless for the snow season. I realize they are supposed to melt, but with one day of rain to melt that much and end up throwing away 1/2 the cost: $50, it isn't worth it as.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective Ice Dam Counter measure Put them 3 -4 apart and they dig right in and melt or prevent ice dams
