Keep it dry is the ultimate goal and these hanging bags do the trick. Hang them in known or to be damp areas and watch the water accumulate. We use them in the RV when we close it up for the winter. In the spring the bags are full of water without any trace of mold. We also put the bucket type in the boat when we close it up for the winter. Again not a trace of mold. A fragrance is nice but not necessary. The goal is dry environment.

I love these hanging bags because they are an easy way to keep closets dry and odor free. I use them in all of my closets and some cabinets. The hanger is a good size which fits on most clothes rods. The bags are also a little less messy than the buckets.
The lavender vanilla scent is a huge improvement over other Damp Rid scents. It definitely smells less like a commercial cleaner.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Parker Very cool product
I knew this product was called DampRid, but I was actually surprised that it pulls moisture out of the air. I placed these in my closets & love them. They have a pleasant smell that's not overbearing, MUCH better than the previous smells which come from closets which store teenage boys' sport shoes. They only take up an inch of room in the closet. After a week hanging up, there is almost an inch of water in the collection bag, along with some of the product's whitish clear crystals. See the pic of individual unit.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by kens Keeps Basement Room Air Fresh and Dry
We use this Hanging Bag in two enclosed areas in the fully finished basement to keep the moisture and air in good condition. One area is for the water pump, filter and softener. The other is a room for the Water Heater and Furnace. These two part Hanging Bags have a material in the top half that absorb the moisture in the air and it is collected in the bottom half of the bag. When the water compartment is full, the bag is discarded and replaced with a new bag.

DampRid Hanging Moisture Absorber is a clean, easy way to remove excess moisture from your clothes closet, bathroom, basement anywhere moisture is a problem. The added bonus of a soft pleasant scent, I like Lavender Vanilla. We live in an area that receives a lot of rain and moisture in homes is a common problem. I have tried other products but find this one to be the easiest, cleanest way to remove excess moisture from the air. This product attracts and traps excess moisture preventing damage and eliminates those musty odors. Just remove from the plastic, unfold and hang, once all the white crystals have dissolved, discard in the trash. It is so effective, it's patented. For those app user, scan the package for a video.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Anthony Good odor eliminator
This is a must have for old houses with stinky basements. After being up for a day, the odor was just that of pure aromatic lavender, not old musty basement. After a week I could not believe the amount of water it had collected (see picture below). The scent goes away after a week or so, but it keeps collecting the moisture. I love this thing!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kevlar Does the job perfectly
In small confined spaced such as a closet this works wonderfully. Closets that lack air circulation often get musty. Hanging one of these helps to remove the musty smell and I think the moisture (it is really humid here). It also helps keep the close a bit more fresh with that vanilla smell. Make sure you hang it though as the pouch will generate a fair amount of liquid that needs to be disposed of.
