How long does it last?

I'm sure it is determined by how much humidity is in the air. Just bought a beach condo 1,600 sq ft and it will sit empty for up to three months at a time. Based on the square footage recommendations I would most definitely use two at a time but was trying to figure out if I should buy extras to leave for the management company. Do they only start working after they have been opened?

Answer:
They do only start working after they are opened. And yes it would be dependent on humidity and temperature. But I doubt that they would be used up in three months.

Answer:
Check the bucket . Bit I have 2200 sq feet to cover this is upstairs and basement. I use 3 up stairs and 3 downstairs. Works great. Not the garage, too much air.
With a room and closet, 1 bucket will be fine.

Answer:
The DampRid website says it will do 1000 sqft, so using this size would be more then enough. If you have the closet door closed, it will not do much for that area.

Sure. Obviously with the windows open the room can never have anything other then the same humidity as outside. You can have the biggest dehumidifier there is, it would never be able to reduce the humidity below what the outside is since the outside would have essentially infinite amount of water vapor to supply. You can have the biggest dehumidifier there is, it would never be able to reduce the humidity below what the outside is since the outside would have essentially infinite amount of water vapor to supply. Perhaps with a big enough room and/or a small enough window it would have less of an impact on the ability of Damprid to lessen the humidity in the room, but you would be fighting a losing battle. Answer:
You just take the plastic lid off. The inner liner stays in place. The moisture is absorbed through that liner. When you see the liquid reach a certain level in the container you dispose of it.

64 oz. Fragrance Free High Capacity Moisture Absorber is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 125.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't Throw Out the Liquid Just a suggestion: the liquid that ends up bucket can be used in cold climates to help protect against sidewalk icing. The liquid is calcium chloride suspended in water. Calcium Chloride is the expensive kind of Ice Melt home stores sell. So save the liquid in jug (shake it up every week or so or the calcium chloride will calcify at the bottom of the jug). Pour the liquid on your sidewalk before an ice/snow storm and you have basically what you would have if you bought the ice melt.

Put it out and it went to work .i first added a mat under it because I didn't know what to expect but I learned it's self contained. I moved it up on a nightstand. If my grand kids spotted it I would move it to a out of sight out of mind area. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from effective Damp Rid does what it is supposed to do, so I purchase it regularly. My only complaint is the price. I think that it is way overpriced, but as there are no competing products, I have no choice but to buy it. One word of warning: I always use the Damp Rid bucket inside another bucket. I have used these for years, and several times, the Damp Rid bucket has cracked once it started to absorb moisture, and the liquid has run out. Save yourself a mess, and always use a second bucket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for camps and boat storage Love these damp rids! The sealed bucket is perfect for my boat come winter storage time. I put two in my boat - don't have to worry about anything spilling - and they keep The moisture out. I also use at our camp in damp areas. Works great.
