Does this unit have a dry cycle?

Does this unit have a dry cycle? Some do not.
Asked by: Njtransplant
Hello Njtransplant, the unit comes with an econo-dry cycle, however, we recommend to open the door once the cycle is done in order to let the steam release from the cabin.

My Danby model #DDW1899BLS-1 has 7 program buttons. Do the wash cycle descriptions correspond to the buttons on the machine left to right?

I looked at the manual and the program buttons on the dishwasher. The first button looks to be pictured as pots/pans, yet the description says "normal". The second button looks to be plates and the second description says "intensive". Are the descriptions reversed? Thanks!
Asked by: LCdeer
Hello LCdeer, you are correct, the icon with the pots/pans is the intensive cycle, so you should follow the instructions from right to left.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 2” Shorter Than Standard Countertop Height This product fits width wise is a standard 18” cabinet opening. The problem we ran into is with the height. The dishwasher falls short of a standard countertop bottom height by almost 2”. Since the unit must me secured to the countertop by two tabs the only option is to raise the dishwasher up with shims or a wood platform. What does not make any sense is there is no mention of this issue and only two of the 4 legs have leveling feet. I would think the extra 2” would have been important to increase the available space inside to store dishes. Operationally I have no complaints after three weeks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product for the Price. Reasonable Price for this smaller size dishwasher. Most of the dishwashers in this size were much more expensive. Is very quiet to run.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better than no dishwasher! The dishwasher is good, it's what we could afford and what fit our available space. The manual could use a little work, refers to a dial which this model does not have, and the different modes are described only as text in the book, but only referenced as pictures on the dishwasher... so we have to guess what's what. All of the different modes run at least two hours, which seems really, really long. There's no option to turn off heated dry, which is too bad since it doesn't actually seem to dry the dishes anyway.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from In need of repair Bought this dishwasher in October 2015, and already in August 2016 it needs to be repaired. It's still covered under warranty, thank goodness, so we had the repair guy in this morning to look at it. I was told the main wash motor needs to be replaced, and the repair guy could not give me any estimate for how long it would take him to get the part. I called Danby myself, and was told the part was in stock so it should be a quick turn around. I was also told that if the part was not in stock, I would have received a whole new unit. Dishwasher worked fine up until now, but very disappointed in needs repairs already. Hopefully the repair happens quickly, and the new motor lasts longer than the original one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most inexpensive 18" Washer I could find, works well I was satisfied with this purchase. The unit was the most economical 18" washer I could find. I purchased this unit on sale under 400. Installation was easy, a few wire caps, and minor plumbing I performed myself . The connections for the electrical and water are in the front, so that's a little tricky to hook up and then move the unit in to place under the counter without pinching or kinking these connections. I finished this installation in a day. It included some cabinet demo and plumbing. I have a home owner level of home maintenance experience. The drain hose had to be extended as my installation location was about 10 feet from the drain connection, which has not caused any problems so far. I extended the hot water line from the sink as well with pex lines and connected with a braided line and adapter. Some thread tape, and a couple hose clamps for the drain hose coupler, and one at the drain outlet on the disposal. I also needed a hole saw to put holes in the cabinet side walls for the plumbing. These are routed at the back of the cabinet so they are not seen. Don't forget your air break, I routed my drain hose through the cabinet inner wall at a higher point than the drain outlet into the cabinet under the sink. This unit has been installed about a month. I would approximate 8-10 loads have been run through the unit. It cleans scraped and rinsed dishes well. I like the rinse only cycle on this unit that runs for about eight minutes if you are planning to not wash immediately. Cycle times are in the 2+ hour range for full loads. Other notes: Water supply pressure at our house inlet is 35psig, with additional head differences and filters further reducing this pressure at washer inlet. Pressure at the washer was not measured, however unit is functioning at current supply pressure. Water temperature at faucet was about 117F. I like the stainless finish on the interior, as apposed to painted steel.
