Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Judy Product is attractive, small size, easy to empty.
We actually had a mold problem because air conditioning ducts are in close proximity to water heater. Constantly dripping during heavy use. This dehumidifier is so simple to use and so efficient. Removes about 4 gallons of water daily, we empty before bed and again in AM. Will shut off automatically when full. Wet ducts are completely dry and unit is not even in the same room, although door has louvers. Entire lower level of split level home is taken care of. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by bit16 Nice small dehumidifier
Works great in my basement and removed the large amount of dampness within a week. Very quiet. Able to use the drain hose provided that empties into my work sink so I don't have to worry about emptying the bucket. Hose can not lay horizontal at all or the water will end up in the bucket. Found this out personally but also found the automatic shut off works.

I purchased this unit because of the other ratings on it and I'm glad I read the reviews. It works really well... almost too well because I have to empty it twice a day!

This is one powerful dehumidifier! And I really had problems with all the rain we've had this year. My bedroom is in the lower level of the house. First I noticed mold on my shoes when I took them out of the closet. Upon closer inspection my furniture had a light layer of mold! I purchased a small dehumidifier and was still having problems. And I sleep in this room with MOLD! So i did research and decided on the Arctic Aire by Danby! It amazes me the amount of water this unit pulls out of the air. Extremely efficient and no more musty smell of mold in my life!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by katnb1124 Great until I broke it.
This was a great dehumidifier until I knocked it off a table and busted it. The unit included both a digitial temperature and a digital humidity reading. It also measured by ones. My second unit was a GE 30 pint dehumidifier, which has no temperature reading and only measures humidity by 5's. Disappointing. Also, the Danby included a hose with the unit for continual flow. The GE had no hose and I had to buy that separate. Go with the Danby! More perks for the same money.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SJ12DS Good but you might want to go bigger!
I have a 2,000 sq. ft basement and this is rated up to 2,000 sq. ft. Although this does the job and keeps my basement at the humidity level I set the unit never shuts off.
If I have it set to 50% humidity it will stop pulling moisture out of the air once it reaches 50% but the fan still continues to run.
Also, even though my basement is at around 59-60 degrees in the winter the unit coils have a tendency to freeze up after a day of running.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RobMcK Dependable, Excellent performance, clean and Quiet!!!
Normally I don't take the time to write reviews on products, it either works or it doesn't.
However I felt compelled to write a review on how well this little unit has has done keeping my basement dry.
Features I like; automatic shut off, 2 fan speeds and electronic controlled humidisat and temperature gauge. Also mainly bought the unit for direct drain option but haven't used it yet til it gets colder.
Best thing about it is you don't even notice it on, and how fast it worked to remove the moisture in the basement after I was gone on vacation for four days.
Features I don't like; heavy for size of the unit, wheels are plastic would have preferred castor, and even though I haven't use the drainage hose looks and feels flimsy. Will probably end up replacing to a better hose, no big deal.
Overall would definitely buy another one from Danby when needed.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by wrenchwerks great little unit, very quiet
I purchased this dehumidifier in the fall to dry out my basement as I was starting to notice mildew on my winter jackets and boots as well as on the countertop of my bar. I did my research and decided on the Danby brand as almost every review I had read was positive and there were not many if any mentioning failures within the warranty period. It took about 2 weeks of continuous running to drop my humidity leve from 80% down to to 50% (that's a 1,000 sq. Ft. Unfinished basement). The auto drain feature works excellent and the fan is very quiet compared to my parents Kenmore unit. The only complaint I have is that the auto off function that is supposed to shut the unit down when it reaches the preset humidity level does not work. The directions though are not very specific on the procedure for set the auto off funtion though, so it may not be broken afterall and I just can't figure out how to set it?
