Unfortunatly, no. it does not hold magnum/1.5L or bigger bottles. The shelves are set to hold standard 750ml bottles.

Im thinking of placing this on carpet. Would there be enough room for ventilation or should I place this on a wooden/tile base?

Answer:
Hello, In order to have the proper air circulation and prevent humidity from forming, it is not recommended to install the unit directly on the carpet. The carpet acts as an insulator which will block the air flow.

Answer:
Yes, I don't see why not. As long as you have the appropriate outlet and room for air circulation around it.

Hello Miller65, this unit is a freestanding model and requires 5" of clearance on the back and at least 2" on each other side to prevent overheating.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 123 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value Very quiet...holds temperature...well lit....looks great April 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very cheap. 3 years of use and compressor broken. I did a normal use for 3 years of that product and compressor already broken. May 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This unit is fairly basic, and you'll never get five bottles per row if you drink pinot or chardonnay and don't flip some bottles around. But at such a reasonable price, it won't matter. Without a built-in thermometer or numeric setting, it takes some time to zero in on the temperature you'd prefer, but once set you never need to deal with that again. I've removed the lowest shelf and use that area for a dozen-plus standing beer bottles, and still fit 24 bottles of wine above that. It's not a noisy unit, and it's been its boring, consistent self for over a year. If your needs can be met with a single-zone cooler, this refrigerator really fits the bill. December 11, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad purchase, lot of exterior condensation. This is a cheap product. Not enough space between shelves. No place for lager bottles. Thermostat limited to a maximum of 50F, much too clod for red wines. The worst, condensation on the exterior glass door is bad/heavy. After two or three days of operation, the carpet on the floor was soaking wet. April 5, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wine Cooler No issues to date but it is less than one year since I purchased it. This is the second wine cooler I purchased in the last three years. The first one only lasted two years while being used six months each year. I am a snowbird so I only used the cooler six months of the year. I am hoping my latest wine cooler purchase will function for approximately 10 years at six months annual use. Hence, I have only given the wine cooler a fair rating as it is too early to measure its longevity. December 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wine chhiller Quiet and efficient. Good value does not take up very much space. December 11, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nicely chilled wine! The wine fridge does keep the wines chilled to a nice drinking temp. The only negative is it makes some quirky noises while operating. Other than that feature I really like the machine. December 16, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent wine fridge! My Danby wine fridge is an excellent choice for someone who keeps about three cases on hand. A problem with condensation between the glass door panels was resolved quickly with Danby's warrenty process. December 11, 2015
