Customer Reviews

Built-In Dishwasher in White-DISCONTINUED is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Dishwasher The buying experience through the HomeDepot website was easy and the product was delivered with no issues. After installing the dishwasher there was a major leak though. The leak was at a factory assembled piece, the connection between the plastic drain sump and the bottom of the dishwasher tub. This was a big problem since all the dishwasher connections had to be disconnected and the dishwasher removed from under the counter. This was a major inconvenience and difficult to repair, not happy with the quality of this Danby dishwasher.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A Big Mistake We installed this model because the standard size was too wide and the price point was attractive. After about a month of use the soap dispenser stopped working and occasionally water was left standing in the bottom of the unit. After waiting over a month for Danby's repair contractor to return with new "parts" we made arrangements with the appliance store to return this product and spend a little more to get a "name" brand which hopefully will be more reliable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay Away We purchased this unit from home depot online, after about $457 being blown on it, it never ran. The cycle would stop about 2/3 of the way through and water/filth would be left standing in the unit. The return process was thankfully not too difficult. We're moving out of our condo unit soon, and as such didn't want to spend a lot on a dishwasher. After finding a local store that had this product for about $100 less, we decided to give it another try. The first unit was a bit dinged up on arrival so we thought maybe the second time around would be the charm. After installing our second unit, we were thrilled to find everything worked fine. Less than two months later however, this unit sprung a major leak from the bottom of the water pump. One of the factory seals was totally shot--frayed and falling apart around the edges. We were out of our unit the first time this happen and it essentially ruined our newly installed floating floor. It has now been 5 months since this leak started and I am STILL waiting for a danby appointed service provider to return with the correct parts to fix this leak. Their customer service is somewhat easy to get a hold of but they have absolutely no one available to service the unit. On top of that, after 1.5 months when we finally got someone out they had to order a replacement part and it's been 3 months of waiting for that now. Danby: Never again. If I could award this product negative stars (maybe they should have a black hole rating system since that is what has happened to my time and money) I would happily do so.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from controlls did not work right it ran almost three hours & did not dry the dishes. I checked the drying element & it did not heat up. I took it out & returned it to Home Depot. The top racks had a cover on the side that hit the top of the dishwasher & did not oprn properly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beware Dandby Dishwasher Warranty Loophole I purchased this dishwasher just 3 weeks ago. It arrived 10 days later with the outer packaging completely intact with no visible damage. I went ahead and scheduled for a service tech to come and install. When the installation tech arrived several days later, he unpacked the unit and immediately saw the front panel on the door had a large dent across the middle. The tech told me that my warranty will cover it under the "concealed damage" category and there would be no need to exchange the entire product. Turns out he was mistaken about the warranty, but I would not learn that until later. He went ahead with the install ($158 total). The very next day I registered the product with Danby and activated the warranty. When I called Danby to report the damage, they referred me to an authorized repair company near me. I phoned to schedule the repair, but the technician said this type of damage was not covered. I called Danby back and indeed, they informed me that the warranty does not go into effect for the first 30 days and would not cover any damage present upon delivery. The product would need to be returned and replaced by the wholesaler in my case. Since I had already paid for installation, this meant I would have had to pay for someone to come remove the unit, and then pay again to install a new one. Because the damage was concealed by intact outer packaging, I would like to see Danby send out a repair agent to replace the damaged part and stand by their customer. I paid $484 for this appliance, so a little love would be nice. Here is the lesson learned for me that may help you: Even if the packaging looks perfect when delivered, you should completely unpack the product and inspect it BEFORE you sign to receive delivery.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement for previous Danby Bought this to replace our previous Danby which lasted about 5 years. In addition to the minor cosmetic updates, this unit washes a little better than the previous one. Ordered online and it was delivered in perfect condition, near the maximum time they said it would take.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Machine Works Good The only thing I dont like about this machine is that each cycle is so long. I end up turning it off before all the cycles are done.
