Some wine cooler units have removable shelves which can accommodate storing larger bottles. Does this wine cooler allow you to remove one or more of the shelves?

Answer:
Yes, all the shelves are removable. It's a little tricky and you have to turn them just so, but they all can be removed.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Was Great While It Lasted Granted we've had ours for at least ten to twelve years and was great until about three years ago. It wasn't holding temperatures so called in our A/C man who discovered that it was out of freon AND there was no method of refilling. After installing a device so this problem could be solved, it again worked fine. A week ago upon entering the house, we'd smell an unfamiliar odor, possibly something from a pest control company; however, we've never had this. Finally pulled the plug on the Danby and smell has disappeared. So, we loved it while it worked but are unhappy that we have to purchase another. But after learning that refrigerators are now geared to last only 13 years, maybe I'm wrong in thinking the Danby should last forever. My answer to the question about 'would you recommend' should actually be Yes AND No. But no option to put that. June 23, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Looks nice The first cooler we received was damaged - bent frame and the door could not close. We returned it to Home Depot with no issues except a little lost time. The second one arrived in good shape and we included it in our kitchen upgrade about a month ago. We set the temperature at 41 degrees. The actual temperature is ranging between 41 and 45 degrees. The single zone temperature was no an issue since we drink our reds at room temperature. Looks great with our other SS appliances. September 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice addition to our kitchen Love the Wine Frig.... But our kitchen could have been finished a week earlier if the first Frig had not been damaged. The box looked pristine but the bottom front was mashed in. This leads me to believe it was damaged at the time of packing at the factory. Check it at the store before you take it all the was home! The customer service at the Home Depot was excellent but it still took another 7 full days to get a replacement. Too bad they can't keep one in stock. April 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No QA at Danby Received the first one with a ding in the stainless trim on the door. No damage to packaging so this must have happened at the factory. Took it back and ordered a new one. Second one came in even worse shape. The lower door hinge pin wasn't in the hole so when they tightened the upper hinge both hinges were bent and the stainless door trim was bent out of shape. Again, no external damage to shipping material. Whoever is doing final assembly and QA at Danby needs some career counseling. Gave up and ordered another brand at another retailer. HD was very good about the returns. May 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase Nice to have a beverage/wine cooler rather than the trash compactor which we never used. August 1, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A little on the expensive side but otherwise a good product. The racks provide for a tight fit. Over sized bottles of wine won't be facilitated. Standard bottle size, no problem. Temp goes down to 39 and has a good range. Was a bit more expensive than I expected. Has a nice look and looks good in my kitchen. June 2, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wine fridge I really like the design. When we installed and plugged in it would not turn on. When I looked behind the unit with a flash light and followed power cord inside you could see that the plastic conector was not plugged in to the controller. Bad assembly at factory! Maybe others wouldn't have found the problem. Anyway it's working and it looks good. April 7, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Looks Great But Emitted Refrigerant/Dull Chemical Smell Looks great. Fits well in trash compactor cabinet slot. Installed and loved, but shortly thereafter noticed a subtle chemical/refrigerant gas like odor. Moved to garage for two weeks or so (plugged in) thinking this was a new product smell or something and would burn off. Reinstalled to have same odor return, which now was giving wife and kids a headache. Pulled back out, odor and headaches disappeared immediately. Home Depot gladly returned and ordered a new one thinking/hoping that specific unit was damaged, as the original box was severely damaged upon delivery, which the store had noted. Unfortunately we just went through all of the above a second time with the second unit. We'll need to find a different wine fridge. We seem to be alone with this issue as I haven't heard other chemical smell/odor complaints. Wished this one would have worked as everything else was nice. December 10, 2014
