Some wine cooler units have removable shelves which can accommodate storing larger bottles. Does this wine cooler allow you to remove one or more of the shelves?

Yes, all the shelves are removable. It's a little tricky and you have to turn them just so, but they all can be removed.

Silhouette 34-Bottle Built-In Wine Cooler is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from very happy so far We have only had this for 5 days, but it is installed and working beautifully so far. It looks great built in and I love the small handle (so many of the others have bulky handles.) It chilled down within 2 hrs. of plugging it in and is quiet. We were able to get 31 bottles of wine in it. The only small negative is that you have to lift up on the door a tad to get it properly closed. I don't know if this is supposed to be this way or just a glitch in the way the door was put on. Other than that I would highly recommend. Excellent value for the dollar. Also, the free delivery was exactly as promoted.....arrived on time, drivers were very nice and made sure they put it inside our entryway.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great wine cooler Beautiful wine cooler. Makes just a small hum when the cooler goes on to regulate the temperature. I was able to fit 3 bottles on every shelf, though I did have to arrange to make big bottles under or above smaller bottles. Champagne bottles were too large, though I was able to sneak one in laying on a diagonal on the very bottom.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice addition to our kitchen Love the Wine Frig.... But our kitchen could have been finished a week earlier if the first Frig had not been damaged. The box looked pristine but the bottom front was mashed in. This leads me to believe it was damaged at the time of packing at the factory. Check it at the store before you take it all the was home! The customer service at the Home Depot was excellent but it still took another 7 full days to get a replacement. Too bad they can't keep one in stock.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Was Great While It Lasted Granted we've had ours for at least ten to twelve years and was great until about three years ago. It wasn't holding temperatures so called in our A/C man who discovered that it was out of freon AND there was no method of refilling. After installing a device so this problem could be solved, it again worked fine. A week ago upon entering the house, we'd smell an unfamiliar odor, possibly something from a pest control company; however, we've never had this. Finally pulled the plug on the Danby and smell has disappeared. So, we loved it while it worked but are unhappy that we have to purchase another. But after learning that refrigerators are now geared to last only 13 years, maybe I'm wrong in thinking the Danby should last forever. My answer to the question about 'would you recommend' should actually be Yes AND No. But no option to put that.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks nice The first cooler we received was damaged - bent frame and the door could not close. We returned it to Home Depot with no issues except a little lost time. The second one arrived in good shape and we included it in our kitchen upgrade about a month ago. We set the temperature at 41 degrees. The actual temperature is ranging between 41 and 45 degrees. The single zone temperature was no an issue since we drink our reds at room temperature. Looks great with our other SS appliances.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No QA at Danby Received the first one with a ding in the stainless trim on the door. No damage to packaging so this must have happened at the factory. Took it back and ordered a new one. Second one came in even worse shape. The lower door hinge pin wasn't in the hole so when they tightened the upper hinge both hinges were bent and the stainless door trim was bent out of shape. Again, no external damage to shipping material. Whoever is doing final assembly and QA at Danby needs some career counseling. Gave up and ordered another brand at another retailer. HD was very good about the returns.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the Look When we received this it was placed in the garage for a few weeks until we were ready to install it. When we finally opened the box, the whole bottom vent was dented in...much past the time to report for shipping problems..but even so, it is being reported and we are hoping for a new kick plate/vent. One of the biggest problems is the noise. It cycles constantly and there is a loud fan that comes on and it really is annoying,. This is in contrast to most of the reviews that I read, so I'm wondering if maybe it's just a faulty piece. I like how the bottles fit in side, and it holds every bit as many as it says. A 2nd problem seems to be in keeping an even temperature. We set it for 50 and it continued to move downward to 48. So we set it for 52 and and still remained at 48. Not sure why it can't hold the temp. it is set for. Otherwise I like how it looks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect fit I bought the Danby because if its size, the temperature range, its look and the internal shelves. It does fit perfectly in the space where our trash compactor was. The look is very nice, especially with the blue light turned on. The shelves are removable, which makes this fridge very versatile. We removed the bottom two shelves so that we can store beer as well. Because the shelves are slatted, you could also store the beer on the shelves without removing any if you preferred. The beer isn't quite as cold as we would normally drink it, but it gives us extra space in our refrigerator (and you can always pop in a bottle to chill a bit more before drinking). There's not a lot of clearance between the shelves, but with a little maneuvering I was able to fit even the bigger wine bottles. The temperature range is good, with the lower end being around 38 degrees. The only complaint is that the unit is a bit noisy. We're getting used to it, but we can hear it humming off and on from the next room. Overall we're very happy with it, and I would recommend it as long as the occasional noise won't annoy you.
