This model was $1,100 thus I expected more longevity. Warranty only extends for 24 months. Now, too expensive to repair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks nice, performs terribly I purchased this product brand new in 2011. One day after 4 short years, it just stopped cooling. I had a Danby certified serviceman come take a look, he said it need a new evaporator and there was a leak that required a full seal and replacement at a cost of $900. Danby only has a 1 year warranty. Not worth the repair, so now I have just a really expensive shelf. Do not buy this product, or anything from Danby.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed after 3 years Unit wouldn't cool after three years. Apparently the FreeOn leaked out. When I called Danby support they said from the symptoms I gave them that it was defective but it wasn't covered under warranty anymore so I was out of luck. Also the seal on the door isn't great. Has an air gap in top corner. This unit came with our new house. The repair man said he wouldn't wish a Danby product on his worst enemy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Meets Expectations Had Silhouette shipped to store expecting Hm Depot to inspect for shipping. Not!! After getting unit home, discovered bottom of unit was crushed as if dropped from truck. Second unit shipped to store but fully inspected while in store. Once installed, set to lowest temperature possible. At that setting, unit was noisy and operation erratic. After four months of use water started to leak from the inside then in a week, from underneath. Thought the unit was living up to it's reviews but after shutting the unit down to defrost, dumping the condensation bucket and setting the temp to 40°, it's performed as expected. Directions state low temp setting is 39° but indicator will go to 37°. Non-linear operation at 37. Future recommendation would be an on/off switch on the bottom front of built-in units. It was a pain pulling the unit out just to unplug. In my case it panned out as I needed to empty the condensation bucket. Love cool blue light, locking feature and look.
