Bits are strong, well constructed, and cut relatively cleanly. As advertised, they bore much more quickly than the version without the lead screw, and will penetrate harder woods that the others will not. Needs a relatively strong drill. Always clamp a backing board to the exit hole to avoid tear out. I start the holes with a Forstener bit for cleanness on the top side. Work effectively in drill press or hand held.

My older bits were rusty and dull, and a replacement was long overdue. I'm very happy with these Dare Devil bits. They cut fast and have a screw tip to help locate the bit when starting the hole.

Be careful with these as they will tear into anything in their way! Cut holes into original rough cut 2x4s easily!

I only needed the 1/2 inch but I couldn't resist the 3 pack. I'm sure I'll use the others, someday. I like these drills because they just pull themselves through the wood, they don't require any effort at all on your part.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hammertime Fantastic speedy bits
These bits blasted through 2x lumber and plywood like lightning. They do live up to their advertised claim of being many times faster than traditional spade bits. I was running some new pipes (PEX) to bypass some old pipes that started leaking when the slab settled and these bits made going through the various boards in the way a quick operation. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the screw/auger type tip. Occasionally when going through thicker/multilayer material the bit would jam and my drill couldn't turn it. I couldn't just pull it out and reposition it but would have to reverse the drill to back it out and free it for another go. I wasn't looking for cleanliness of the hole particularly but it did seem to cut more cleanly than other spade bits as well. I also used them on an extension and worked great there too allowing me to get the pipes through deeper cavities for best pipe routing.

Bought to run new wire through old studs and these bits made it a breeze. They went through the aged studs like butter without all the bumping received from cheaper bits.
