Customer Questions & Answers

will this work on tile floors?

Asked by: olgainada
This tool will work on tile floors. The only problem is one end will work better than the other. The pry bar end will be the best for getting under tile.

Will this work pulling up hardwood floors?

Asked by: Dan
This works very well with pulling up hardwood. I use it in firefighting and I have torn up floors as well as ceilings and walls with it.

Could this be used to pull landscape spikes?

Asked by: jackbe
Howdy jackbe, This would be awkward to try and take landscape spikes out of the ground with. A better tool could be a 2 prong weeder hoe like this: Happy weeding, Coach Dave

Will this work to pull apart pallets with minium damage to the boards and wood?

Can it function for the same purpose as the 45 in. Double Cats Paw Wrecking Bar?

Bought this tool to cut & sleeve, so I'd have a cheap 5ft. steel hook, but now I know I should have just spent the $ on a FHU Talon Hook. The shaft is hollow tube (unlike FHU) and it's still heavier even at 36". Fire Hooks Unlimited uses aircraft grade solid steel, which is lighter/stronger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best tool EVER!! As a Fire Chief and a Contractor, hands down this wrecking bar is the best. In the fire service you'd pay at least $180. To $200. For the same tool. You can pull ceilings, walls, subfloors, tile, etc. perfect leverage, great length for tight spaces! I have one in my Chief truck and work truck!! I'm trying to find more locally to get one for every fire truck in my department!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome firefighter tool I'm a professional and volunteer fireman. This tool goes on the back of the truck with me as well as in my jeep when off duty. It is very well built and can be used easily as a forcible entry device. I've literally practiced two story bail outs from a residential building using this without a belay. It also marries well to a 3.5 lb axe. Highly recommended and the NY hook end works just like it should.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great purchase I was going to purchase a New York roof hook earlier this year before being told by a fellow firefighter about the Demo Hawg. I wasn't too crazy about the powder coating so I decided to strip it down to the bare metal. Although I like this MUCH better, you have to make sure you keep the tool clean and oiled after every use or you'll have to deal with rust. I decided to prime it (using automotive primer for difficult surfaces) and paint it with a metallic paint and then wrapped it up and added some reflective tape. A lot of people will say that the tool is too short to be useful as an overhaul tool, but I find it to be perfect.
