if you use 3/4 MDF to replace the particle board, you can mount a vise. I mounted a 6 inch vise to mine.

I bolted a 4 inch vice on the front right corner for gunsmith and it works great . but all I use it for is building lower receivers and attaching barrels, it wouldn't be any good for anything heavier

I really would not mount a vice on this table. If I really needed to do that I would replace the wooden top with 1" plywood or something even stronger. This table is not built with the kind of stability required for a vice.

Answer:
I recommend a bolt type vise. With the drawer under the work area the side rail of the frame and drawer make it too wide for a clamp on vise. I attached a small Record bolt vise also purchased at Home Depot. To get the most out of the vise I placed it in a front corner so that I could rotate it around the corner.

The top is only held by gravity. You would have to secure the top with screws or bolts to the metal frame first. I don't believe the weigh of the entire product is sufficient for securing any heavy items to the attached vice.

I haven't tried but I doubt that the particle board would be strong enough. If you replace with a better quality board you would be safer.

I suppose you could physically mount a vice but keep in mind that the top board is rather thin. Answer:
It is half-inch particle board. To use it as a reloading bench you would have to add a thicker, sold-wood top which would be easy enough to do. The frame itself is strong enough and stiff enough, but maybe too lightweight for your purposes (unless you weigh it down). Your reloading press would have to be mounted on the left or right side, because if you mount it in the front it will block the drawer.

Answer:
This work table is light weight and only good for projects that don't require hammering or torque type projects such as pulling a reloader lever. The thickness is 1/2 inch so reloading probably needs a sronger surface to mount the reloader mechanism. I would not recommend this work bench for reloading.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice bench for the price. This bench has many features like easy to construct, ironically because the assembly instructions were terrible. Most important is the many areas to place and store equipment. The quality matches the purchase price, you get what you pay for. The worst thing was that I ordered it for store delivery, I will never do that again. It took three weeks to finally arrive, after the store first lost it then discovered the wrong label was on it, then it had to be reshipped to the store which was going to take another two weeks, I had to finally cancel it then reorder it to be delivered to my home which graciously I was not charged any additional shipping. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Price is what you pay for... Recommend this for someone who does not have a lot of tools or need to use a workstation on a frequent day by day basis. Directions are poorly written, leaving you on guessing how to assemble without getting parts backwards/upside down. When finally put together, it is pretty sturdy however, you are at a disadvantage if you should need to move/adjust within your space because there are no wheels/casters. Moving then causes you to either shift the entire piece or lift, which runs the risk of popping the beams out of the inserts. Overall, it's a basic design which suits occasional usage.Nothing more. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for the price While it's certainly not a high end piece of equipment, it's cheap and functional. The only real complaint I have is that every board had a ding on at least one corner. Since there was only one tiny piece of wood floating around in the box, I assume the damage was done before the kit was packed. That's just bad. But it's cheap. When the fiberboard starts to disintegrate, I'll replace it with real wood. After adding a power strip and LED lights, it's turned out to be a pretty decent workbench. April 4, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Home Depot Strikes Again Was looking for a small workbench to place in my workshop. I am a reloader and needed a little extra space for some of my equipment. Workbench did not cost too much and was rated to support the amount of weight that I needed. Everything looked good online so I went ahead and ordered it. Shipping was inexpensive and fairly quick. When I opened the box I was already to set it up and get some work done. I immediately noticed that one of the pieces of particle board that was supposed to serve as the top of the work bench had a huge hole in it. I double checked the outside of the box and there were no signs of damage to the box. After speaking to the local home depot on the phone and having to drive to the store twice, it has now cost me more in gas money and time than the cost of shipping the work bench and I have yet to receive a refund. Since Home Depot's customer service is so terrible I have since gone to my local Lowe's to purchase a comparable work bench at a comparable price and even received a 10% discount for being active duty military. Another thing I was told that Home Depot does not due and that it is up to each individual store. I can guarantee that I will never return to Home Depot and will spend the rest of my time and money at Lowe's. April 23, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Damaged The product comes at a great price, but it arrived damaged and will need to be returned. This is more of a ding in handling and local Home Depot qc than Dateline or Home Depot itself. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by You can't beat it. I was workbenchless. Through a series of moves, over the years, most of my wood working tools were handed down or over. So, I was looking for a simple answer for a workspace in new garage. A little online research and homedepot.com came to the rescue. The price was amazing. A couple of hours of assembly and adding a led surface light under the shelf and it was money well spent. I, also, added a couple coats of polyurethane on the work surface. (particle board) Great storage and very sturdy. July 10, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Addition to my work shop This is a bit more difficult to assemble than I had imagined. But, everything functions well. It should be remembered that this is an inexpensive product. Higher quality workbenches, of a similar size, cost a lot more money! It is a good value for the money. The drawer is functional but not a tight as better tool drawer cases. The upper shelf, above the peg-board, is small and is not structured for a lamp of any kind (which would be an improvement). There are several particle-boards that can be used as shelves but there is no way to attach them to anything. One must buy peg-board shelf braces of some kind to use the shelf boards. In all, I like it and am glad I have it. December 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great DEAL! I purchased this product for exactly what it is intended for. Light projects and a starter bench. This is perfect and at $99 you can not beat it. The only issue I had was the drawer is kind of poorly designed and does not come in and out very smooth. It is not perfectly level either when set correctly as directed. Other than that it is perfect and would purchase again! Great product. March 1, 2016
