Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Homeowner Warranty is NOT Reasonable
The machine worked great, until it didn't, After four years of running it for about 4-5 months out of each year, the machine stopped drawing water. I called the manufacturer, and was told that the warranty covered parts, not labor. Fine. Reasonable even. But then the representative told me that I would have to ship the machine THREE STATES AWAY to their service center. I researched the costs, and between the labor and the shipping, it would come close to the cost of a new machine! I tried to get them to consider allowing me to take it to a closer repair shop, one that I researched, and has contracts with the likes of LG and Panasonic, but they refused. They would not consider an alternative. If your machines break, shouldn't you stand by them, and not create an undo burden on the customer? I will not buy another DeLonghi again.

Good unit. Works as advertised. However, the pump hose connector became clogged and the manufacturer required shipment to authorized dealer for repair in NJ. I live in MI. They won't even sell the part.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by rosif3r it gets the wet out.
I've got a wet basement, and one of the main culprits is a laundry room with a dirt floor under plywood. no matter what i do, there must be enough groundwater seepage to raise the relative humidity in the basement quite a bit. While the DeLonghi was one of the pricier units i looked at, it had a high capacity and, most importantly, a pump for continuous draining into the utility sink next to it (see pictures). In fact, I had it set up without the pump hose for the first couple of days, and it was filling up the (large) reservoir twice a day. Since it's been running all the time, the RH has dropped in that part of the basement from the high 60s to 43% as of today (and it's still dropping). The only real problem right now (since it's going nonstop) is that it's raising the temperature in the basement (a little annoying in the summer), but this won't be a problem come the colder weather. In fact, it'll be a plus...

Michigan basement needs definitely needs one of these. Working wonders getting the moisture of out of the air! Right now I am manually dumping the tank but will be looking into setting up the pump for draining.

My new Delonghi Dehumidifier works great. I love that I can leave town and know that the unit will continue to work unlike the previous brand I purchased from Wynter. I purchased a Whynter RPD-501WP dehumidifier and was very disappointed with the performance and customer service. After 3 months I received an error message of EC and Wynter told me that it was damaged during delivery. I took it back to Home Depot and purchased my current Delonghi which I love. It is quiet and the pump is fantastic.

At first glance a great product, but if you are going to use the pump be ready to replace it once a week! On my third pump, each one lasts about a week. Would not recommend to anyone wanting to use the pump. Removes the humidity fine, but I have it in a empty house and need the pump to work, cannot go there once a week to empty container.
