I bought an LG electronics LD650 from the store and it was a piece of junk. The switch for the 'bucket full' failed after the first time I emptied the bucket. I'm an electronics engineer, so I'm familiar with electronic parts, and the switch was a cheap piece of junk. I bought this DeLonghi unit online (since it was not available at the local store). The construction and quality of this unit is much better than the LG, I think Home Depot should stock this in the stores instead of the LG.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BILL Have it for less than 1 month but it appears to be a good purchase
I selected this model because it has a pump feature that allows for discharge of water into basement sink.
It is too soon to rate the durability yet but most reports on the new dehumidifiers are not too encouraging so I will report back if I have problems. I did invest in Home Deoot extended warranty plan that extends the warranty by 2 ADDED YEARS FOR A TOTAL OF 3 HYRS. WITH THE COST OF THESE UNITS APPROACHING $300. IT MAY BE WORTH THE PRICES OF $50 TO BUY THE EXTENDED PLAN.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CutsALotOfStuff Good unit but no automatic operation of fan
Unit works fine, but as others have complained there is no automatic operation of the fan. Runs continuously. Some have said this is because the unit needs to pull air through to sample humidity. That's fine, but this could be done without running the fan full speed.
The other issue, which is not a fault of the unit is that Home Depot shows this unit as being able to pump up to 16ft, which is inaccurate. The manual states the pump is capable of 13ft.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Brandt The jury is still out
I am very concerned with the operation of the pump. The first few days it didn't work, the bucket filled up. I messed around with it a bunch and tried some different piping configurations to see if that would help. Problem is the humidity has now dropped in the house to where I don't think it is doing much if any dehumidifying at this time. Assuming the problem is fixed (and I may not know until next spring) it is a good value

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by HomeDepotShopper DeLonghi Dehumidifier 50 Pint
This dehumidifier received a lot of good reviews so I purchased it. Even running constantly, it cannot keep up with a small basement---the basement still smells musty. This unit was much higher priced than other brands so I expected more. The noise level isn't too bad and it does have the hose to drain directly into drain, however, very disappointed overall.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lola Just what I needed!
Once I figured out the directions, it works great in my cellar. I would have liked a longer hose, though. The one that came didn't reach my drain, and the garden hose section I had for the dead dehumidifier didn't attach properly. Finally I removed the connector from the garden hose and jammed in the end of the supplied drain hose -- problem solved!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jean Product worked great til pump broke
I found this dehumidifier with pump to work very well and was ideal not to have to empty the bucket! However when the pump started making a loud noise and stopped working, I contacted DeLonghi. Didn't get any resolution; repair options are nil and customer service is pathetic. I will never buy another DeLonghi Product.

Looks nifty, but if it doesn't ever take water out of the air, what is the point? Tried all three methods (including the plain old bucket). No water. Registered 27% humidity sitting in a pool of water in my basement. Huh? Thankfully, HD store took it back after I ordered from HD.com.
