Customer Reviews

50-pint Energy Star Dehumidifier with Patented Pump-DISCONTINUED is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Expected OK, so I've only had this a few months, so the jury is still out on longevity, but so far this has been a great product. I just took it out of the box and sat it in the floor and hooked up the pump hose to the sump pump of my ac unit. So it has sat the whole time. It pulled the humidity down to 50% within a day or so and has held it there constantly. I rarely touch it. I would like to address some of the negatives I've read in other reviews: 1. The fan runs constantly. Yes, it does. For the unit to be able to maintain a certain percentage of humidity it has to pull air through the system for sampling. Otherwise, the humidity INSIDE the unit would have it kicking on and off constantly. If you want the whole unit to turn off, you can use the timer. That way the unit works for a while and is completely off for a while. 2. The unit is noisy, even on low fan. This is a matter of opinion. I can hear the whoosh of air through the system, but it is quieter on low. What you CAN'T hear is a lot of machine noise. The only way you can tell the compressor is on is that the discharge air is warmer. There is no buzzing noise that is usually associated with compressors running. I don't call that noisy. I have had 3 of the LG units that HD stocks. They lasted no time. This seems to a much better unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Doing its job I purchased this unit to take the dampness out of my crawl space. It was easy to hook up, has an attractibve profile, is pretty quiet and is doing it's job. I was concerned about the durability but it has been running 24/7 for several weeks and it continues to do a good job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product for the Price So far this dehumidifier is working great. The pump is the big seller. I have the hose hooked up and the end out the window. The room does not smell damp and musty anymore.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from stopped pumping after 5 months use I installed and ran this thru one Summer and Fall. Turned it off for the Winter and it could no longer pump the following Spring. Exterior hose was clogged, I cleaned it but pump refused to run more the a minute. There is no repair center in Vermont and no repair manual either. Very disappointed in Delonghi products, I could not recommend this unit to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built dehumidifier I bought an LG electronics LD650 from the store and it was a piece of junk. The switch for the 'bucket full' failed after the first time I emptied the bucket. I'm an electronics engineer, so I'm familiar with electronic parts, and the switch was a cheap piece of junk. I bought this DeLonghi unit online (since it was not available at the local store). The construction and quality of this unit is much better than the LG, I think Home Depot should stock this in the stores instead of the LG.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet and easy to use! This is a great dehumidifier. We placed it in our finished basement and it runs quietly, while removing all the moisture that was in the area. We haven't tried the pump yet, but it is a great added feature. DeLonghi is the way to go, just too bad it wasn't in stock in the Home Depot Stores.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Working great! The unit is in a large basement. I set the humidity at 45% and using the pump feature. Only had it for four weeks the humidity in the basement is staying at 45% . I picked this unit for the pump, it works great . No leaks or water on the floor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well with one unanticipated issue The dehumidifier works as advertised. The only thing I do not like is that when working with the pump to discharge the water the fan never turns off, even after the target humidity is reached. It is in season cottage that is often unoccupied. The fan runs 24-7.
